CHAPTER 54

“What did I tell you, Jain?” Stanley asked.

They were at the parking lot now and Jain was leaning on her car. She had messed up big time. She had lost her cool and had been sent out of the room together with Stanley. Stanley had warned her to keep her cool but that had failed. Back in the hospital room, she had cold feet as she saw Ernesto. It was all surreal to her. After five years of constantly chasing him, she had finally met him face to face. They had finally been in the same room. But she couldn’t do anything about it. She had wasted the opportunity they had to interrogate Ernesto. Now they weren’t going to get anything.

“I told you to keep your cool!” Stanley yelled at her.

Jain slammed her fist on the roof of the car in fury. She wasn’t angry that she had messed up the interrogation. She was made aware that she couldn’t do anything to Ernesto. There was doubt in her mind that she was going to get such an opportunity again. It was over.

“Answer me, Jain!” Stanley ordered.
