The maroon hatchback stopped behind Lana’s car and the two men stepped out of it heading towards her. Lana was slipping out of consciousness and she could smell her blood. She had a cut on her forehead which had blood oozing out.

She could hear footsteps coming towards her. Maybe it was helpful.

“There she is,” a voice said.

“She’s still alive,” another said in surprise.

“What do we do with her now? The boss said we should make sure she’s dead.”

“Well. I got an idea.”

Lana battled with her mind to hold onto reality, but her efforts were futile. She was going to die and there was no one coming to save her. She managed to open her eyes one more time and she caught the sight of two pairs of shoes standing a few feet away from her. The rain was still pouring, and she could see the water flowing just over her head. Wondering how that was possible, she slowly slipped into oblivion.

Allen squatted and came face to face with Lana who was already unconscious. He could see blo

She was paying for going against them. She fell deeper into the water, she realized that he had won. There was no coming back from this. Lana could feel herself running out of oxygen. Her lungs were burning, crying out for oxygen, but Lana knew no matter how she struggled, there was no escape. Nobody was coming to save her. This was the end. Her end. Her life flashed before her eyes. There were a few moments she regretted. The one at the top of the list was staying with Rylan when he had urged her. He knew that Seth would come after her again, and therefore he couldn’t let her go. But Lana had been stubborn and had refused

Rylan watched a black sedan pull up to the driveway in a rush. This perplexed him. He recognized the vehicle in a split second. It was Dayton’s. He was back. That was surprising to Rylan. He had ordered Dayton to keep watch of Lana and keep her safe. Whatever he was back here for, Rylan knew it wasn’t good. Williams appeared behind Rylan. He noticed that his focus was outside the window. “What is it, master?” He asked at the same time a thunderclap rattled the silent night. It was still talking heavily, and Rylan wondered if it would ever stop. This wasn’t something he had seen before. The downpour was terrible and a flood should be expected. “It’s Dayton,” he said, watching the sedan. Dayton stepped out of the car in a hurry and rushed to the other side of the car. “Something is wrong,” Rylan confirmed. “What?” Williams asked, confused, but Rylan didn’t answer him. Rylan didn’t even hear him. He was beefing towards the door. He swung it open and watched Dayton pull out a body f

Lana Pierce opened her eyes slowly as she came back to consciousness. She ran her hands on the surface which she laid on and realized that it was soft. It was a bed. Lana was relieved to know that this was reality. The last thing she remembered was slipping in and out of consciousness an uncomfortable number of times. As she tried to recall what happened, her head ached in pain. “Ouch!” She gasped softly. A figure moved beside her. She turned her head and met Rylan who was looking at her with a crooked smile on his face. His amber eyes were out of color and his face was pale. His dark brown hair was ruffled and fell across his face. She was confused. How did she end up here? The last thing she found was drowning when she saw a figure in the darkness reach towards her. It was then she recalled everything. She had been drowning in the harbor after her body was dumped in there by two men. She could remember her lungs crying out for air as she ran out of breath. The continuous inhalin

Lightning flashed through the skies and a thunderclap was heard next as the rain became heavier. The weather was getting horrible and didn’t look like stopping anytime soon. Seth’s Mannen drummed his fingers on his desk impatiently. He was waiting to hear the news. The weather was perfect for the job. Lana was going to be gone this time. He would get his revenge for her turning their back on them. But something crossed his mind that made him uneasy. After Lana, what next? The casino was already gone. And it seemed there was nothing that could be done. Seth contemplated it. Could it be possible for him to get back everything that he had lost? The answer was no. He had watched the casino being destroyed, and his hate for Rylan had increased tenfold. Rylan was going to pay for everything he had done surely. But he just didn’t know how. Everything was in shambles, and he was confused. Seth rose from his desk and shook his head. That wasn’t important for now. First, he had to make sure t

Lana Pierce opened her eyes once more and looked around her. She was still in bed. This was still Rylan’s room. She turned around and was glad to see that she was no longer hooked to the heart rate machine. It meant that she was getting better already. Who would have thought that she would have survived that? The answer wasn’t her. She had given up too easily, and she didn’t feel bad about it. At some point, she felt it was better to end it all than face what was lying ahead of her. She rose from the bed and sat on the edge as she ran her fingers through her hair. She was starving. The night that she had been almost killed, she had been on her way out of the grocery store to get some groceries. Lana realized that she hadn’t eaten since then. She wondered what day it was and how long she had been out. The last thing she could remember was talking to the man who had saved her life. It turns out that it had been Rylan who instructed him to do so. As she tried to recall his name, her hea

“What?!” Lana gasped through the phone. “I’m sorry, but it has to be this way, Lana,” Rylan replied as he looked down at the streets. He was standing at the glass wall as he scanned the busy streets of Los Angeles. He was at his office, and it felt somewhat awkward. It had been a while since he came here. The whole week, he had been stuck at home trying to make Lana get better. Now, she was strong enough which meant he could finally get back to work. “Don’t do this, Rylan. Please,” Lana begged. “You have to understand. This is for your safety,” Rylan explained. “I can’t let you out of the house until it’s safe. Who knows? Seth could still be looking for you.”He could hear Lana sigh on the other end of the line. He was aware that she wasn’t a big fan of Willaims. And the feeling was mutual with Willams. Having to stay home with him felt like a nightmare. Everything was going to be fine. He just needed to let her know of that. “Seth thinks I’m dead. You don’t have to worry about t

“Hello, Rylan.”Rylan couldn’t believe his eyes. He was bathed in disbelief. Eve stood before him dressed in a yellow sunflower dress which brought out the color in her ocean blue eyes. Her black hair fell on her shoulders making her look gorgeous all together. Rylan gulped hard. She looked stunning. “How’s this possible?” He asked. Eve chuckled and sat on the table. After she had sent the mail to Rylan, she thought it was a bad idea. She couldn’t believe she was sitting with Rylan now. After everything she had done to him in the past, she couldn’t believe she would have the courage to meet him. Rylan was dressed in a black suit and his amber eyes gleamed in the afternoon sunlight which washed across their table, courtesy of the window beside them. His face was frozen like he was staring at a ghost. She was aware of his surprise. Looking at him now, it was hard to believe that he was the one tormenting her family. He looked so innocent and gorgeous. “You’re looking good,” she teas

Lana stepped out of the cafe with a bag of donuts and a cup of cappuccino in her hand. She was craving for these, and was finally happy she could get them. Rylan’s home was currently feeling like a holding cell for her. He had warned her against going out, but she had sneaked out when Willaims wasn’t watching. Now, she was going to head back there. It was crazy, but she had no other place to go. She was aware that her life was in danger. If Seth realized that she was still alive, there was going to be a lot of trouble. He would come back for her, and this time she felt he would do this himself. Seth had been currently moving nerving people, making them do his dirty work for him. It was sensible, because with the cops still watching all of them, getting his hands dirty right now could put him in a lot of trouble. Lana knew she had to rush home before Rylan knew that she was gone. If Williams told Rylan that she had gone out without his permission, there was going to be a lot of troub

In his hand was an FN 5’7. The man in black pursued him endlessly. When the Italian man stopped for shelter, he pulled out his gun from the pockets of his leather jacket and aimed at the man in black. “Rylan. Watch out,” Williams called in his ear. “Holy shit!” Rylan yelled on his breath as the man pointed the gun in his direction. Two shots were fired and Rylan managed to dodge the bullets before they could hit him. “Are you sure this is our guy?” Rylan asked. “Affirmative. Dominic De Rossi,” Williams replied through the comms. “I just hope you’re right.”“When have I ever been wrong?”Rylan rolled his eyes and fired back at Dominic. The shot whizzed past Dominic’s head and he scrambled to his feet immediately. Rylan saw this and decided to go after him. They were on the main stre

It had been two days since Rylan had spoken to Frederick. He could still remember the shock on his face when he told him he had forgiven him. It wasn’t something that Frederick had expected. Frederick was aware that he despised him, but there was no need to keep that grudge anymore. The battle had been won. The best thing he could do now was move on and that was ok his agenda. Jain shook her head in disbelief. She was baffled that they would let Rylan into the prison to speak to Frederick McCullough. Well, he was Rylan Daystar. “So what did you tell him?”Rylan lifted his cup of cappuccino and took a sip from it. His eyes went to the parking lot outside the window. The morning sun washed all the cars there with its glorious light including his black Audi. “I told him that I forgave him.”Ja

Inside the dimly lit room, a figure was sitting at a table dressed in orange. Rylan clenched his jaws and stepped into the room. He turned back to the guard who was still sta

“I thought we were going to head back home?” Jain asked as they headed into their Airbnb. “Well, Los Angeles is a two-hour flight back, and my pilots are off duty for the night,” Rylan said, closing the door behind them. Jain sighed and rubbed her neck nervously. She couldn’t remember the last time she had been in a room alone with a man. That had been with Jacob; five years ago. Rylan took off his suit jacket and hung it on the cloth rag before folding his undershirt. “If this makes you uncomfortable I could get a different room for myself.”Jain turned to him. “You could do that?” She asked. “I mean, there’s no need for that.”Rylan arched an eyebrow at her as he folded his sleeve once more. “Okay. If you say so.”Jain nodded and proceeded to the fireplace. She was gazing at the crackling fire as she held her shoulders. It brought her soothing warmth. There was a center table in the small living room and on it was a bucket of ice with a bottle of champagne sitting in it. “Wou

It was an awards party which would explain why there were so many famous people. A black Lamborghini arrived at the scene and halted on the red carpet. The door lifted and a figure stepped out of the car. It was Rylan Daystar who was dressed in a charcoal black suit with floral patterns and a shawl which was tied at his waist. He looked like a Frenchman. He moved to the other side of the car and opened the door. A woman stepped out of the car all dressed in a white gown. It was Jain, and she had a new look. Her platinum blonde hair which was always long was cut short now making her look dangerously beautiful. Rylan smiled as he watched her close the door of the Lamborghini. A valet came forward and Rylan threw the key to him. “Make sure you take good care of her.”“Yes sir,” the valet said, getting in

This is the same thing.”“Well not exactly. I’ve never been in front of a crowd filled with police officers.”Jain laughed at his words. “Rylan Daystar is being intimidated by a crowd of police officers. Who would have thought?”Rylan rolled his eyes and placed his hands before him. They were both standing in a room alone. In a few minutes, they would be taken outside to be handed the key to the city. Rylan wasn’t exactly sure why he was there. When Jain had first told him about this at the cafe? He quickly declined the offer. The city saw him as a hero. But he wasn’t.
