CHAPTER 83

Rylan watched a black sedan pull up to the driveway in a rush. This perplexed him. He recognized the vehicle in a split second. It was Dayton’s. He was back. That was surprising to Rylan. He had ordered Dayton to keep watch of Lana and keep her safe. Whatever he was back here for, Rylan knew it wasn’t good. Williams appeared behind Rylan. He noticed that his focus was outside the window.

“What is it, master?” He asked at the same time a thunderclap rattled the silent night.

It was still talking heavily, and Rylan wondered if it would ever stop. This wasn’t something he had seen before. The downpour was terrible and a flood should be expected.

“It’s Dayton,” he said, watching the sedan.

Dayton stepped out of the car in a hurry and rushed to the other side of the car.

“Something is wrong,” Rylan confirmed.

“What?” Williams asked, confused, but Rylan didn’t answer him. Rylan didn’t even hear him. He was beefing towards the door. He swung it open and watched Dayton pull out a body f
