A State Of Dilemma

The table turned around all of a sudden, the almost peaceful atmosphere changed. Joy's face was gloomy and her lips compressed. The hope and optimistic belief in her disappeared instantly.

She chuckled and she looked at her mother as if she had grown horns on her head. She felt so confused and angered that she wanted to attack Marie on her spot and trash her, but she wasn't rude. She didn't want to become a disrespectful child because of her mother's nonchalant attitude.

Joy chuckles turned to a grin because she thought her mother was being unreasonable, “I'm surprised at the boldness and confidence in your voice, you seemed so sure I would listen to you if you used that kind of tone on me. Well, you have misjudged me on this, mother, because I will never listen to you either!”

Marie's hardened face became soft, she felt she had gone overboard with the way she spoke to her daughter, so she made an attempt to speak to her calmly, “Sweetheart, I…” she was interrupted by a furious Joy
