Intruder

" What the hell is going on here? Lilly's voice boomed with authority. The manager turned and gazed at Lilly confused. Everywhere was just silent.

" Can anyone explain what happened here? Why is no one talking?".

Then she faced Lucas, "Why are you still outside Lucas, I thought I asked you to wait for me inside. What is the problem?". The manager turned pale as he heard this from Lilly, he knew he was in trouble already. Had he known Lucas was Lilly's guest, he would not have humiliated him.

" I came here as you instructed ma'am, but the doorman and the manager denied me access to enter the restaurant. I tried to mention your name when I approached the doorman but he dragged and embarrassed me seriously. The manager's attitude towards me was the worst when he came out. I thought he would understand me as a mature man, but immediately after he saw me, he started calling me all sorts of names. He even accused me of being a fraudster, can you imagine that? To crown it all, he raised his hands to beat me, the nerves of him to attempt such" Lucas explained what he experienced to Lilly.

Lily was annoyed. The anger was apparent but she somehow managed to compose herself.

" You guys did all that to my guest? You should have allowed him after mentioning my name, but you chose to act irrationally only because of his appearance."

She faced the manager directly, " I employed you to manage the affairs of this place, and not to attack anybody. When did you become a security guard? You also dared to raise your hands at him? seriously? I'm highly disappointed in you. The least you can do is to give him listening ears, but you chose to embarrass him instead?  Both of you are fired. Go in there and pack all your belongings, your services are no longer needed"

Both the doorman and the manager knelt to apologize immediately when they heard Lilly's verdict. They both knew they had trespassed. They were blaming themselves for treating Lucas badly.

" I'm very sorry Miss Rowland, we have made a grave mistake, please forgive us. I'm using this job to sustain my family. I have a wife and children waiting for me at home, please don't fire me." The manager pleaded. He knew Lilly valued family a lot, and that's why he included his family, maybe that would change her mind.

Lilly on her side, had already made up her mind. She didn't go back on her words. She hated discrimination to the core, that's why their apology fell on deaf ears.

" I'm giving you just fifteen minutes to vacate this premises, anything more than that would result in prosecution, Leave now and never come back" She dragged Lucas with her inside after issuing her warnings not minding how the duo were pleading for more mercy.

" I'm very sorry Lucas, you were embarrassed and humiliated because of me. I was overwhelmed with joy when I saw you earlier today, that's the reason why I couldn't check your appearance before we came here. Don't be offended please", Lilly started apologizing to Lucas immediately after they settled down in the restaurant.

The receptionist and other workers were all confused. They were wondering how important Lucas could be to make their boss apologize to him. Lilly wasn't the type that apologized easily, they all knew that.

" It's alright ma'am, no offense taken", Lucas responded.

" Please call me Lilly, don't be formal when you are with me"

Lucas smiled," okay Lilly"

She faced the workers who had turned themselves into spectators since they entered, "What are you all staring at? Are you tired of your jobs already?"

They all returned to their work instantly because nobody wanted to lose their jobs.

" Oh, there are restrooms in the VIP rooms on the second floor, you can enter one of them to freshen up. I will order the clothes you will wear, and then we can go shopping later" she uttered, smiling at Lucas and he nodded positively before  he left to clean up himself. As he was leaving, Lilly picked up her phone to call someone.

" Hello Greg, can you get me casual clothes for a tall man with broad shoulders? He is not fat please, thank you?" She instructed.

A few moments later, someone brought in a package and delivered it to Lilly. She thanked the person, then she moved to drop the clothes outside the restroom Lucas went.

" Your clothes are outside here Lucas, Check them out when you are done with the shower. I will be outside if you need anything" 

As she walked out of the room back to the reception, a young man saw her. The moment the man saw her, he started smiling. He was very happy to see her there. His happiness made Lilly annoyed, she was pissed off.

" Hi Lilly, it's quite a long time. How are you?, "The young man asked , wanting to hug Lilly but she pushed him away slightly.

"Fredrick, I'm fine as you can see", Lilly replied nonchalantly.

" I know you are fine, sweetie, pretty as always. Even a blind man can feel your beauty"

" Stop with the flattering, Fredrick. Why are you here?"Lilly asked.

She was already getting irritated with Fredrick's approach. Fredrick was one of the most handsome available bachelors in the city. He was also from a wealthy family, who thought he could have access to whatever he desired as far as money was concerned. His family was close to Rowland's family, but they were not as rich as Rowland's.

Everyone knew him as a Playboy. He changed women like he changed clothes. He never had a woman for long, and he was featured in several magazines because of his Playboy attitude.

He dated female celebrities like actresses, models, and singers. Not that he had ever been ashamed of his status as a Playboy but he always avoided paparazzi because they intruded into people's personal affairs.

He had tried every possible means to woo Lilly but she never fell for his traps. She disliked him with passion. She was a tough nut to crack. He knew he couldn't use money to sway her, considering she was also from a rich family, so he adopted the love approach. Lilly refused to be deceived by his sugar-coated mouth because she knew he was a pretender.

" Calm down babe, Why will a princess like you sit here alone? Let me keep your company", He proposed

" I'm not your babe and my stay here is none of your damn business, so state the reason why you are here and leave. I have other things to attend to", Lilly replied

" Why are you doing this Lilly, I have tried to show you nothing but love, but you never bulge. Do you dislike me that much?" He inquired in his lovely and calm voice.

" I don't care about whatever love or hate you are talking about. I have told you times without numbers that I can't date you, Fredrick, why can't you understand? You are not my type, I can't date a man like you, so stop disturbing me. Your disturbance is getting irritating already. If you don't have anything reasonable to say, I will take my leave now", Lilly said as she stood on her feet to leave.

" Okay then, I would like to invite you to dinner at 5 pm today. Just dinner, nothing attached, please? I want to treat you like the queen that you are?"

" I am not in…."Lilly was about to reject Fredrick's invitation when Lucas stepped in with wet hair. Fredrick's face changed instantly, as he stared at Lucas's wet hair.

"I'm done," Lucas announced.

"Who the heck is this?" Fredrick yelled, attracting audience attention to them.

"Fuck!" Lilly cursed, tighten her fist as all eyes were on them.
