The Meetings

 " I'm happy I finally found you. I thought I would never see you again" the girl uttered joyously after she had already calmed down.

It turned out that the girl Lucas saved the previous night, Lilly found him. She sent her men on an emergency search mission to find the man that saved her. She was from a wealthy family, so she had all the resources needed to search for a missing person.

Her men refused to rest. They brushed the entire city for Lucas' whereabouts. They used all the technology available, and they resulted to involved all the middlemen to know Lucas's identity. So when Lucas was found at the entrance of the court, it was a mission accomplished for them.

Lucas was surprised to see the girl looking for him.  He was bewildered. His thought was that the girl had fled and he would never see her again, but seeing her brought back the memory of last night. How he suffered for a total stranger and how was nearly beaten to death by the hoodlums chasing the girl.

What could be the reason for the chase? What was her offense or what business did she have with those heartless people? The girl looked innocent that she couldn't have hurt a rat, so what could have happened? 

"Is she not scared, what if I had been killed? Wasn't she afraid of any danger? Those are the thoughts running through his mind. 

But when he carefully looked around the girl, he understood why she looked brave. Mere seeing the black men that surrounded her, one would denote she was from a rich background.

Lilly rushed to Lucas's side and held his arm, " Hi, my name is Lilly. Do you remember me? The girl from…. " Lilly wanted to continue the introduction but she was cut short by Lucas.

" Yeah yeah, I remember you", Lucas said, scratching his head. He was not comfortable with the way Lilly held his arm. 

He marveled at the way she held his arm without minding his look, especially his tattered clothes. How could she not get irritated?

" I'm Lucas. But I remembered I asked you to run away yesterday, why are you still here?"

Lilly raised her hand to touch Lucas's cheeks to check for any injury, but he dodged it.

" Whoah, what are you trying to do? Lucas asked

" I'm worried about you. I couldn't sleep all night. I thought something bad would have happened to you because of me. So don't push me away, I'm just trying to check if you are alright. Are you hurt anywhere? We can go to the hospital if you don't mind" Lilly explained worriedly

" I'm fine, okay? You don't need to worry yourself. As you can see, there is no wound in my body. Are you okay though? Hope you weren't caught last night?" Lucas asked Lilly

" I'm perfectly okay, all thanks to your bravery. If it weren't for you, maybe I would have been dead by now. I appreciate your help. I didn't expect anyone to come to my rescue at that wee hour, but you showed up unexpectedly, I nearly lost hope, you know?" Lilly continued showing appreciation by moving closer to Lucas, she didn't let go of his arm.

All this drama didn't go well with Elena who was present. She didn't think there could be someone who would care for Lucas this much. The silly girl didn't even mind his rough look and she was all over him.

 To her, Lucas was supposed to be humiliated that no one would ever want him. She wanted to render him useless for any other girl, so what nonsense was the girl doing in her presence? This made Elena boil with jealousy, after all, she already said no girl would date someone like Lucas, and then she resulted in emotional blackmail.

" I knew it!!!! I knew it when you refused to beg me not to divorce you, that there must be something behind it. So this had been happening without my knowledge right?  You have been cheating on me with this whore?"She flared up.

A tiny but strong hand raised and dashed Elena a hot slap. " How dare you call me names. You better be careful before I reset your empty brains with another slap" Lilly said, pointing fingers at Elena angrily.

Elena screamed as the slap landed on her cheeks. She couldn't bear the ridicule and embarrassment, so she asked Alex to take revenge for her. She could not defend herself against her fellow woman, so she asked for her lover's help. What a shame.

" Alex!!! Will you stand there and watch this thing hurt me? Do something now!!"

Alex got angry and was going to get revenge for his lover. As he moved closer to Lilly, Lucas stood before him.

" Don't you dare? Do you want to lay your hands on a woman? Don't you know women are fragile? You should be ashamed to be called a man", he warned, holding his fist.

" What will you do if I…" Alex tried to attack the girl again but he was frozen, the minute he recognized her. He recognized the person standing before him. She was the unique daughter of one of the three strongest and wealthiest families in the City. Her family was 100 times richer than his and they practically ruled the city. She was an autocrat, she was Lilly Rowland.

Lillian Rowland was the only daughter and child of Justin and Lilliana Rowland. The name Lillian was coined from her mother's, but everyone calls her Lilly for short. Justin Rowland was one of the owners of the biggest Enterprise in Norway City. He owned many companies both at home and abroad. They virtually produced every product that can be useful to man.

They are feared and respected in the entire city. They also have a link with the government as a result of their knowledge and wealth. They can crush Alex's family within the twinkle of an eye, so he dared not offend them.

Seeing that Alex had stopped, Elena became angrier, " Alex!! What are you waiting for? Slap her now!!"

But to the disbelief of everyone present, Alex turned back furiously and slapped Elena instead. Everyone present was dumbfounded, even Lucas' mouth was left agape. So Alex could slap the woman he claimed to love?..
