Chapter 2 Life is pain

“Alaric what do you think about this proposal?”

“Grandma, emm lady Han you shouldn’t go with this. It requires enough capital and takes a very long time to gain profit. You should go with this proposal, it doesn’t cost much and could fetch you more profit within a short period of time.”

“I see, secretary did you hear what he said?”

“Yes old madam.”

The old lady looked at Alaric and said, I obeyed my husband's word because of this.

The reason why the old lady still tolerate Alaric is because he is perfect when it comes to business.  With his guidance the company has been progressing rapidly. Their family were unknown but with Alaric guidance they are now part of the third tier wealthy family.

He was working as  the old master's personal secretary when he was alive but they fired him after the old master died. 

To them he doesn’t deserve to work in the company but must stay in the house and work with the servant. The sad thing was he wasn't respected, even the servant were looking down on him.

“ Alaric am going to hang out with my friends, drive me to Bridget restaurant  and one more thing, you should keep your mouth shut and act like a blind person when we get there. Mandi ordered him.

“ Ok dear, said Alaric.”

“Don’t call me dear, I wouldn’t want my friends to know I have this kind of husband.”

“ What do you mean by this kind of husband, I am your husband and you should give me the maximum respect a wife must give to her husband.”

“ Ha! Husband my foot, a husband who relies on his wife for survival is that one a husband? What makes you a man Mr.? Don’t you feel ashamed to utter these words?” She said with a scornful tone.

“Mandi do I deserve this treatment, why  did you agree with them if you never loved me," said with a painful expression.

“ Don’t look at me that way, someone might think am a bad person, and how am I treating you, don’t I provide you shelter and food?, I agreed with them because my grandmother said you will be useful to the company and  what kind of treatment do a useless fool like you deserve,” She got in to the car.

“ Mandi you called me a useless fool?” 

“ Oh yes, I did so what, are you going to strangle me?

Alaric  you better  shut up and get in the car before I loose my temper.”

Alaric stare on the ground for a couple of minutes and drove her to her destination.

“Mandi who is he? “One of her friends asked.

“He is my personal driver, why did you asked.”

“ He is handsome.”

“ Do you want to have him? He is very poor and useless you will have to feed him everyday.”

“ No I don’t want such a man.”

A man hugged Mandi from behind.

“Babe I have miss you, the man said from behind and kisses her cheeks.”

“I have miss you too my darling” Mandi turn and hugged him too, they were cuddling each other without caring about their surrounding.

She saw Alaric trying hard to control his self, she said nothing and sneered at him.

 

Alaric couldn’t stand it any longer and so went to sit in the car. If Mandi doesn’t respect him at home, couldn’t she at least respect him in public?

What sin did he commit to deserve this. Even though  he is unable to provide for her needs, he is still his husband, she should have respected him and not cheat right in front of his eyes.

If he knew he would have ended up this way, he would have fight for his right.

Now he has no parents, no family, he has no work and not even a place to call his own.

He works like a slave but he is not even given a penny.

He can only get money when he goes out to buy groceries, that’s is reducing the price and quantities of the items.

 

“Sometimes he wish to end it all because he thinks life is pain. His life has become miserable. Nobody cares for him, he has not touch his wife ever since he married her, even though he received a better treatment when the old master was alive but Mandi didn’t permit him to touch her .She always thinks he is not worthy of her.

 

If it’s true my creator is still, please save me from this disgrace. I am also a human being born by woman, why should I be treated this way.

Why do they think dogs are more valuable than me. Am I that bad to the extent every one look down on me?

 

Was it my fault to be poor? why must I be  treated like a trash because I am poor. Are poor people also not humans?

Sometimes I will have to eat the food given to the dogs. 

Mother father where are you, the people you told them to take good care of me has failed to keep their promise. They have taken everything from me. The shares you gave to me has been snatch by them.

Father why did you give me to the hungry lions, 

Mother your precious son might join you soon if he couldn’t take it any longer."

 Alaric cried for the first time after his parents death. He miss his parents very much.

Sometimes we wish we could give up, sometimes our love ones turn their back on us after they find us to be an eyesore.

Our loving wives begin to disrespect us because we  couldn’t perform the duty of a husbands, our loving husband begin to maltreat us because they think we don’t add any value to their life.

That’s how life is, never give up and continue moving, you know karma has always been a bitch
