WHERE'S MY CAR?

Jakes sat at the kitchen table, staring at his phone. His heart raced as he read the threatening messages from Paul. He knew he had to do something before it was too late.

"Steph, you have to see these messages," Jakes said, standing up from the table and walking over to where Stephanie was sitting on the couch.

"What messages?" Stephanie asked, setting down the book she was reading.

"From your dad," Jakes replied, handing over his phone.

Stephanie's face fell as she read the messages. "He can't do this," she said, her voice shaking with anger. "He can't just demand money from us and threaten us when we refuse."

Jakes nodded in agreement. "I think we need to report him to the police," he said his voice firm.

Stephanie hesitated. "But he's still my father, Jakes. We can't just go to the police without giving him a chance to talk to us first."
