They can clearly see the badger symbol on the cars and this drives a clean message into their heads.

“Andrew, what did you do?” Thomas asks with an annoyed growl. “Don't tell me that I'm just months of getting here, you have managed to annoy the badger!”

Ruby covers her face with her hands, her breath quivering with fear.

“No, no, no, no,” Doreen murmurs with anxiety. “Is this how we are going to die? Someone is going to have to pick Uma from school! Who is going to raise Uma?!”

“I've lived in New York for decades and I have never encountered a badger. How is it possible that you have done that in less than a month?!”
