The Useless Son-In-Law Is The Overlord

Everyone is astonished, some have their hands on their chest as they haven't recovered from the shock of what they have just seen.

Andrew caught a bullet with his bare hand? Like it was just a small stone flying by?

Jasper turns white immediately and looks at the gun in his hands. Was that a fake bullet he used? No human should be able to catch a bullet with their bare hand!

Ruby's mouth is hanging open. When did Andrew turn into a god? Only a god can do what he has done!

Andrew whistles as he looks at the bullet that he is holding between his index finger and his thumb.

“I told you that it wasn't a good idea, didn't I?” Andrew throws the bullet to the ground.

Immediately, his soldiers descend on Jasper in a twinkle of an eye. They are dragging him toward what would seem like his execution, and Adriana is putting on a useless effort to free him.

Andrew's eyes have gone dark with anger, his soldiers know better than to allow Jasper to escape. They are going to strip and then torment him.

“Call my father, Adriana! These actors have got some nerves!” Jasper fumes.

“I am going to video this!” Adriana threatens. “You all are going to rot in jail if you don't let go of him this minute!”

Everyone has been doubting Andrew, but he is going to use Jasper and Adriana as a scapegoat today. When he is done with them, people are going to shiver at the mention of his name.

In the heat of the moment, he feels Ruby's hands on his arm and his attention is brought back to her once again.

She has nothing but sympathy in her eyes for Jasper and Adriana. She shakes her head at him, moving her hands to sign words.

“Forgive them, please. Don't hurt Jasper.” She begs.

“I am not doing this because he tried to shoot me,” Andrew says. “I'm doing this because you and Uma were right next to me. What would have happened if his bullet met you?”

She can see how angry he is, and she understands too, but she still pulls him and gives him a small kiss to calm him down. It works.

She smiles at him. Her gray eyes light up as he does.

“Let him go, please.” She asks again. “For me.”

Uma stands behind her mother, her huge blue eyes are staring at her father. She nods, agreeing with what her mother has suggested.

Andrew sighs and looks at the ground. Ruby and Uma have the purest of hearts. After Jasper and Adriana have been nothing but mean to them, they are still going to show them kindness?

“Fine.” He accepts with a grudge. “Jasper doesn't deserve anything, but I will set him free because of both of you. Boys, let go of him.”

The soldiers immediately free Jasper and he falls to the ground with a thud. He curses under his breath as he wipes the dust off himself. Adriana helps him with that too, she keeps glaring at Andrew all the while.

“The fact that I have spared the both of you once again doesn't mean that I have forgotten about the apology.” He warns Adriana and Jasper. “A week, that's all you will get from me. Defy it and see how angry I can get.”

With that, one of the soldiers gets the door of the car and Andrew and his young family get into the car.

Sirens blast through the air as the soldiers get back into formation. The cars start moving leaving the scene that has gathered so many speculators.

Ruby sights Adriana and Jasper in the mirror, they look so embarrassed that they rush into their car.

She sighs as she shuts her eyes. She still can't believe that Andrew has appeared out of the blue and rescued her from the Red Men's Club.

She has dreamt of his coming every night, she is so happy that he is here.

Her daughter tugs at her hand with a giggle, she has never seen Uma more happy and relaxed.

She kisses the face of her daughter, who then points out. Many people are staring at them as the cars drive by. “Look mummy, we are now rich!”

But that statement makes Ruby's face wrinkle with worry. She turns to look at Andrew, he has been on the phone since they got into the car.

What happened to him in these five years? How did he become so powerful and rich?

Andrew is done with his phone call. He takes her hand and kisses it. “I'm sorry for not coming earlier, my love. But be rest assured that everything will be fine from now on."

He picks up a jewelry box and opens it in front of her, inside of it is sparkling with diamonds and gold. He has bought it for her as a gift.

She is beyond overwhelmed, her eyes flickering and tears drop from them.

"Ruby, this is all for you, okay? I have also bought a mansion in the other part of town–"

Mansion? She quickly withdraws her hand from him. With each surprise, her heart beats even faster, she needs him to give her a break.

“Andrew, is this all fake? Are you hiring people and things to appear to be rich before me?” She signs.

Her worry makes Andrew laugh. She is so amusing. “My love, you think this is fake? No, it's not. Everything you see is real, and it belongs to all of us now.”

She chews on her lower lip, it's a character that she has developed to deal with her anxiety.

She still doesn't believe that the timid, quiet guy that she fell in love with is now this indomitable millionaire.

So she shifts on her seat and signs again. Andrew's careful eyes follow her hands.

“You don't want to go to the mansion, you want to go see your parents?” He frowns.

She nods in affirmation and continues with her gestures. She hasn't seen her parents in two months and Uma hasn't too.

Andrew rubs his forehead, but he nods and gives in to her request. “Fine. We can go and see Mum and Dad.”

Yes, he calls them his parents too. Since he doesn't have any.

He gives the signal and soon, the cars are changing directions. They are going to the lower class part of the city, where her parents are forced to live after William Sanchez kicked them out.

But she stops him again and signs again. His brows furrow with worry.

“You don't want me to meet Mum and Dad like this?” He asks.

She nods. He knows that she still doesn't believe him, she is in shock, but he is not mad at her. It's going to take a while for her to accept it, but he is fine with that.

So, he gives the orders. “Stop the car right here. We will go the rest of the way on foot.”
