Mr Lee suddenly felt like it was his fault for bringing it up. He had heard how Davide's voice broke and he guessed that without realizing, Davide had been inexplicably hurt by what he had done. He must've felt an underlying sense of guilt these past days. The issue Avery was facing was no small fit and he had just abandoned her like she was nothing.

She had had a miscarriage and no matter what had happened, she couldn't be blamed for it. She had also confessed her love for him which could mean that losing that child was never her aim.

"When she found out she was pregnant, she didn't want the child. I had to convince her to keep it and I could see how reluctant she was". Davide started, "then she started to use the child to get to me, she would make up stories just so that I would show up. She wanted me back together with her and did all sorts of bullshit to accomplish that. And then we finally got divorced and suddenly the child was gone. It had been a shitty thing to do but I had bl
