Chapter 23

To say that Davide was skeptical about listening to Avery's words was an understatement, he didn't believe a word that came out of her mouth. He thought that whatever she said or did was all practiced and calculated for something better.

Avery was a woman who cared only about herself and her vile mother who needed special blood to survive like she was some sort of vampire who could only feed off of his blood.

Davide was in the elevator, looking at his reflection on the steel walls and wondering how on earth he stayed years in a marriage that never in any way benefited him. All he ever wanted was for her to love him.back, he believed wholeheartedly in patience, that if he gave her time, someday she would love him back.

Unfortunately, that day never came, though he didn't grow tired of her, he didn't regret waiting for so long but what he regretted was putting a full stop on his life just to attend to her needs.
