Chapter 119

Two days after the conversation he had had with Tom in the fields, Richardson walked about the fields again, this time with company while enjoying the evening scenery before him.

Mary, in the distance, ran about the fields with gusto while he watched on with an amusing smile on his face.

He was getting used to her presence in the estate. She had warmed her way into his heart and his grandfather's heart, turning them both around.

He had not shown her his mother who was still in a coma yet. He wanted that part of him to remain a secret.

She had of course asked him about the woman but he had brushed the question off numerous times as he did not want to talk about it.

“Sir Richardson!” someone yelled his name, getting him to turn and see Tom running towards him.

“Whoa!” Richardson yelled, holding Tom from falling over. “What is it that is making you run blindly into the fields without restraint?”

“You have a letter from the mafia don,” he said, raising a letter to his face.
