Chapter 122

The next day after the shopping incident with Alice and Michael, Jennie called her mother to hang out again.

“You miss me already, don’t you?” the woman laughed, hearing her daughter grumble about how stressful her work was. “I’ll be at the hospital in five minutes.”

“Alright mum,” she sighed, dropping the call to head to her ward for a lunch break.

She dressed in a red gown, taking up her bag as she headed for the entrance of the hospital in time to see her mother walking up the stairs.

“There’s no need,” she called to the old woman. “I’m already here.”

“You look stunning,” the woman smiled, hugging and kissing her daughter. “I love your new perfume. It smells expensive.”

“Richardson got it for me,” the young woman smiled, opening the front glass door for her mother to walk through as she did the same.
