“Look, I got you out here so we can get you ready for the gathering. You need to relax. You seem tense.”

That was because she was tense, he thought to himself.

Her cheeks flustered turning red as she released her hands a bit, “It’s my first time being in a place this luxurious before. I feel so out of place.”

He understood her dilemma. It was how he felt the first time Tom had taken him to the place as well. It took him a while to adapt to his whole new life and he did not expect her to change overnight.

“Sir,” the receptionist called to him as he turned to see her with two of her workmates by her side. “This way please.”

He stood to his feet, following the women into the inner stores as Jennie plodded behind him, clanging her slippers noisily on the marble floors.

They got into a room filled with expensive designer suits and male clothes as he shook his head.

“Is anything the matter, sir?” the lady asked.

“I’m not getting anything for myself. A friend of mine would be getting the
