Chapter 43

“Hey,” he called to her as she paced to where he stood.”

“You showed up,” she smiled. “I didn’t know if you were just playing or being serious.”

“Me neither,” he chuckled jokingly. “But at least I’m here.”

He looked at the trolley behind her. It seemed like she had a lot of work on her hands.

“What time would you be off work?” he yawned. He had forgotten to have lunch while at the office due to the work he had had all day. It had been a stressful but short day at work for him.

“I’m almost done,” she pointed to the upturned mops in her work station. “A patient threw up in her room so I have to go clean it up. I’ll soon be done.”

The thought of a sick patient vomiting in the hospital room made him sick. For one he hated hospitals, secondly, the idea of vomiting in a place such as a hospital gave him goosebumps. He was not a fan of either.
