"I-I can't he help it" stutters the tall, blonde giant. He must be in tears to sound like that. I can barely understand him. The following words he says, I miss completely.
I give the bathroom door a few knocks
"Busy," lan tells me, tone tough and composed. Huh, Must not have been that close to Maya.
"She's alive"
"We're busy What?"
As the door opens, I'm faced with lan's scowl. "What did you just say?"
Mac is behind him, on the ground, hugging the toilet. His face is an absolute mess red eyes, dishevelled hair, snot around his mouth. Yikes.
"Maya is alive"
"Bullshit. I was there. I saw"
"She died, but the doctor can revive her"
Mac starts breathing hard, looking at something behind me or maybe nothing at all.
"You've gotta be shitting me, grumbles lan, le
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. I'm sure you've heard the song before. Comes from an old trading festival, which I will be invoking right now to get a bit of symbolism going."I'll be buying something of yours off of you now, lan, using these." I hold the coins up, looking at him. "It can be whatever you have on you. Then you do it with Erik, he can do it with Mac, and he can do it with me. Once we've all done business, we'll trade a few of the item son us, until each of us is also a trader, Clear enough?"With each of them giving me a nod, I take my seat, then toss the coins at lan. "I'd like your shoe, please" He tosses it back at me, turning to Erik. "Give me your tie With a roll of his eyes, the blonde mutters something, but throws the tie forward anyway. "Give me your watch." Of course the rich kid would go for the expensive thing. Mac almost drops the money due to how hard Erik throws it, but manages to grab it all, hitting the aristocrat in the forehead with the watch "Sorry
HOTARUA few mornings after, it's tense in our room, with neither lan nor I looking at the other. Mac does the opposite, repeatedly looking from one of us to the other"Are you guys fighting?"Instead of looking at him, I meet larr's sulky gaze. "Of course not"Wouldn't dream of it. We just pressed pause""Yes. No need to be bitter about the situation in the least"Standing up, lan puts a hand on his hip. "People could have gotten hurt."If he thinks giving me attitude is enough to make me back down, he's misjudged our relationship. "It was an accident Let it go.""If it was an accident, tell the teachers. They'll understand. It won't affect your points with them.""I'm sure they will right after they give each of us a critical warning. Do you want that?"Saying nothing, he crosses his arms and just stands there. Stubborn bastard."I don't have time for this Spirituality is about to start."And I spend it doing the same thing as always - mindlessly glaring at my crystal orb. Everyone
"I wanted to cast a spell, and wanted something to help me with it." I go on to describe just what happened, what was intended, and the fact that I began the Rule of Three anyway. Once I'm done, Erin's jaw is clenched tight."Hecate? You used a circle to summon Hecate?""Yes." I already said this. What's wrong?"From one of my books?""Yes..?""Hotaru, there was no such circle in any of my books""What? What is she talking about? "I'm not lying-""I'm not saying you are," she cuts in. "I'm saying somebody messed with the books-somebody who wanted the summoning of Hecate to be attempted. I just want to know how they knew which book to do it to. I checked them all and only yours is missing the page. The others are all normal. Who have you told your plans to?""Nobody" Which is true. Absolutely all my plans for revenge are mine alone. There's no need to involve others in it."Think. Somebody must have known. That's the only explanation""Nobody knew.""This isn't a game!" she screams, a

Erin maintains eye contact for an uncomfortable amount of time, then sighs and palms her own face. "Might I ask why?"There's no sense in lying about any of it. I'll keep the names of the others out of it, I guess, but that's as much as I'm able to reel it in."I wanted to cast a spell, and wanted something to help me with it." I'm watching from afar as a young woman is approached by a wolf. For some reason, she isn't afraid of the beast at all, which it appears to sense. The wolf approaches slowly, its head hanging low.She reaches for it with her hand, causing the beast to let out a low growl. This isn't enough to deter the woman, who crouches down and smiles. "It's okay I won't hurt you."The wolf barks once, then pounces. When I wake up, I'm covered in cold sweat, my hair plastered to the sides of my face. The sheets are practically glued to my body due to how soaked they are. Ugh, it smells awful. I'll have to get them cleaned immediately.I don't bother getting dressed right away after leaving the bed. Let Mac and lan stare for a moment if they'd like. I certainly have nothing to hide."You're soaked" Mac notices, frowning. "Are you sick? Happened to me once when I had a fever."
This time, rather than create a shield, she punches my attack. Something happens to it something similar to the effect the shield has and the blast falls apart. I test her again, and she effortlessly repeats the action. That's the same protective spell Mac can use. I don't recall seeing her use it against him during our team fight. 1 guess I'm not the only one full of surprises."With a smirk on her face, she sends two attacks at me at once, which I break apart with a single shield. Her third attack goes under it, aiming to get me off my feet.I simply raise my foot a little, releasing raw magic energy from it just as I can from my hands. It's clumsier, but just good enough to cause her attack to failattack her again, but instead of blocking, Rosa just dives under it, rolling across the floor. Using the momentum, she throws a punch at me, red energy flying out of her fist.Inste
"All I feel is that thing Inclining my head toward the back door, I shudder once more. Why keep something like that in a school full of children? What would it have done to us, exactly? And what does witches need guarding from? Who else but a witch would have the need for those books? Are there others, then, outside this coven?"No, I'm serious" Rosa narrows her eyes, her magic strengthening her body, as though she can feel an attack coming "I think someone's in here with us."I follow her gaze wherever it lands, but just can't pick up on whatever it is she's picking up on. "What does it feel like? Another witch?"No, it's It's kind of like that thing in the back, but different""Speak sense, please.""It's not a person, but a thing but this one isn't cold. This one's hot, I think. It's starting to make me sweat"Hot?
