Chapter 25

I'm watching from afar as a young woman is approached by a wolf. For some reason, she isn't afraid of the beast at all, which it appears to sense. The wolf approaches slowly, its head hanging low.

She reaches for it with her hand, causing the beast to let out a low growl. This isn't enough to deter the woman, who crouches down and smiles. "It's okay I won't hurt you."

The wolf barks once, then pounces.

When I wake up, I'm covered in cold sweat, my hair plastered to the sides of my face. The sheets are practically glued to my body due to how soaked they are. Ugh, it smells awful. I'll have to get them cleaned immediately.

I don't bother getting dressed right away after leaving the bed. Let Mac and lan stare for a moment if they'd like. I certainly have nothing to hide.

"You're soaked" Mac notices, frowning. "Are you sick? Happened to me once when I had a fever."
