Chapter 7

These Krampus looked so aggressive, they attacked us without doubt. They jumped and wanted to bite me, but I tried to fight and fend off it. I was getting used to stabbing and using this dagger. Their blood splashed all over my clothes and I just noticed that the blood smell was so stingy. They kept coming and I already killed maybe fifty or more Krampus. Ten minutes later, all the Krampus died in front of us.

I took a deep breath, “Why are these things keep on coming? How many of them are here?” I was questioning while cleaning my dagger with my dirty clothes.

“I don’t know but they breed so fast,” answered Myrdin, keeping his bow and arrow. “Okay, let’s go! We need to find my friend.”

Myrdin led the way out from the forest and came out in the middle of this world, Myrdin’s place. I walked a big step because I had to balance the steps with Myrdin. I could see a big castle that was twice bigger than what I saw behind the waterfall. I climbed on the big rock and stood on it with Myrdin beside me. My height is almost the same with Myrdin right now.

“Wow! This is horrible!” I was shaking my head, it felt so sad.

All of the castle building and the surrounding environment looked burned out and dark. I don’t know exactly what happened but this castle looked like a ghost town. Nobody lived there, only some Krampus walked around while bringing a big black bag. It looked so suspicious. Some of the castle buildings collapsed on the ground, like there was an earthquake. Myrdin just kept silent beside me without making a move.

“Okay, so where are we going now?” I asked with curiosity and tried to distract Myrdin.

“Actually, I don’t know where the Krampus took Nym.” Myrdin looked at me.

“Hmm… maybe, you have any idea?”

Myrdin looked like thinking of some place. “This place or maybe his kingdom.” Myrdin gave two options.

“Okay, let’s go inside!” I jumped down the rock and was ready to fight and sneak inside.

“Wait!” Myrdin stopped me without calling my name. “What can I call you?” He asked.

“Axel, my name is Axel Hausmann.” I finally introduced myself officially.

“Okay Axel.” Myrdin took a deep breath. “Can you do me a favor?” He looked so serious.

“What is that?”

“Can you go inside alone and I will stand by here?” Paused. “You can sneak in unnoticed.” He begged me for help.

“Me? Alone?” My eyes widened when I heard his sentence.

“Yes, but I will stand by here. Don’t you worry about that,” explained him convinced me.

I really didn’t have an option now. I agreed and prepared myself to walk into the castle. Myrdin kept his distance from me but his eyes never left me. I walked from bushes into other bushes trying to hide from the Krampus. Little by little, finally I already stood in front of the front door of the castle. When the Krampus already walked away, I took that chance to enter the palace.

“Wow!” I was surprised.

The palace didn’t look like a palace, everything was broken. I didn’t want to waste my time and started to walk around. I started to walk around the ground floor first before starting to walk on the second and third floor. There were so many rooms that I needed to look for. I made sure that nobody was around so I started to shouted Myrdin’s friend name.

“Prince Nym! Your Highness!” I shouted and kept opening the door’s room one by one.

But nobody was there, after I made sure of everything. I came back to the Myrdin place safely. Myrdin picked me up and asked, “Can you find him?”

“No, no one is there.” I answered with confidence.

“Hmm… okay, so they are not hiding Nym here.” Myrdin made a conclusion. “Now, let’s go to another place.”

Myrdin led the way again and I followed him with the remaining energy. I felt really tired but I thought this journey is still far away. “Myrdin!” I called him when he was already a little far from me.

Myrdin stopped and turned his head. “What?”

“Can we take a little break? I am tired,” said me reaching out and then sat down on a rock.

“You can jump to my back.” Myrdin allowed me to ride on his back.

Myrdin lowered his body and I jumped on his back. We continue our journey to find his friend. We passed a flower garden, then another forest, before arriving at the beach. Myrdin put me down and we stopped while looking at the beach. “We need to swim under the water.” He looked at me.

I met his gaze, “I can swim.”

“Okay, good!” Myrdin walked into the water and started to swim.

I followed him and how surprised I was that the water was so refreshing and looked so clear. “You can talk under the water.” Myrdin told me.

After hearing those things, I tried to answer him. “Okay!” Shockly, I also could breath under this water. This water was so magical, I didn’t know that this kind of water existed. We swim deeper and deeper until but the light still following us and didn’t get darker.

“That is the city!” Myrdin points to the beautiful city under this water.

The city looked so magical and unreal. “Is that atlantis?” I asked him.

“No, of course no, Atlantis doesn’t exist.” Myrdin told me the truth. “Atlantis was just a fairytale.” He said, laughing.

The city was still looking good, but there was nobody there. We landed in the middle of the city. The building looked so blue, “Where is the castle?”

Myrdin and I started to look around the city, “Over there!” Myrdin pointed straight forward.
