Chapter 6

After a long fight with this Krampus geng, finally we won. Myrdin and I walked back to the waterfall, and came back to Myrdin's home. I gave back the dagger to him, but he rejected it and wanted me to save it for later. Myrdin invited me to his castle which amazed me from the first time I saw it. The guard helped to open up the main door.

"Thank you," said me to the guard.

But, they didn't answer and stood still without expression. I didn't mind and kept following Myrdin. We arrived in the dining room with a long table which had around 20 or more chairs. The servants started coming with a lot of food in their hands. Myrdin sat on the chair in the middle of the table while I was sitting right beside him. I looked at the servants and also the foods that looked really appetizing. After all the dishes were served, Myrdin looked at me.

"Eat it! You look hungry," said him.

"I never saw this kind of food, but it looks delicious." I appreciated it.

"Thank you for coming back and wanting to help me. I promise, I will take you home later after all of this is done." Myrdin said it with perfect expression.

Myrdin started to eat the dishes and I followed. There were fish, meat, seafood, fruits, and all kinds of desserts. For the 30-year-old I lived in, I never eat this kind of food. My parents were already gone when I was 5 years old. My mom died and my father abandoned me alone, until I decided to live as a woodsman. I thought this is the best day of my life, I could eat delicious food for free.

"Don't you have this kind of food in your world?" Myrdin looked at me with a strange look.

"Uhm…" munching the food inside my mouth. "Maybe, but I never bought some." I told the truth.

“Why?” Myrdin wanted to know.

“I don’t have enough money,” answered me and started to look at him.

Myrdin just nodded and didn’t give any other response. I continued to eat and finished all of the food until my stomach was full. After that, Myrdin led the way to his own room that looked so big and fabulous. This room is full of white and gold color, with a lot of books inside. In the middle of the room, there was a couch and a little-round table. The ceiling is so high, it is reasonable because the Myrdin itself is taller than me, like two or three times bigger. Myrdin took something from his cabinet and sat on the couch. I sat beside him and tried to look at something he had.

“This is the map of this world, you need to understand before we go to save my friend, Nym.” Myrdin explained it short, dense, and clear.

First, I tried to find Myrdin’s place but I couldn’t find it on the map. I furrowed, “Where is your place?” My face turned to him.

“This is the hidden place, so it wasn't written on this map.” Myrdin was pointing at one place in the middle of the map. “This is my place, my real home.”

“What happened to that place?”

“I don’t know where these ugly-beast creatures came from. But, Krampus starts to come to this world and kidnaps all the children.” Myrdin explained it in detail. “They take all the children away and take over my place. So, as a prince, I need to rescue the rest of them. I took them here.” He looked sad. “It is not a smooth journey, in the middle of our way, Krampus starts to attack and some of my people die.”

I put my hand on his shoulder and tried to comfort him. Maybe, I didn’t really understand how he felt right now, but listening to his story I knew he lost so much.

“I thought Krampus only took over my place, but they also came to Nym’s place. I cannot save him and now he is lost.” Myrdin looked at me and ended his word. “I can’t find him alone, so I need someone to help. Besides that, you have a small body that can sneak when needed.”

Myrdin told everything to me, so I could understand how and why I am here. I took a look at the map one more time to remind me of the important place in this world. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Myrdin and I looked at the door together, before he stood up and opened it up. I couldn’t see or hear the conversation between Myrdin and that person, but I waited until Myrdin turned his back on me.

“Who? What happened?” I asked curiously.

“Put your dagger up, Krampus started to know this place. I need to close this place and we need to get out of here.” Myrdin started to panic.

“Okay!” I took the map with me and followed Myrdin.

We had to trick Krampus from getting in here. Myrdin left a message to his people, they need to take care of this place and get ready if the Krampus gets in. Myrdin already prepared all the weapons and their needs until this war ended. I helped everyone to close the entrance while Myrdin checked other conditions.

“Myrdin, come on!” I shouted when the entrance was almost closed.

Myrdin heard me and ran after me. We jumped outside that place and got ready to fight. I pulled up my dagger, walked slowly, and stayed careful. We came out from the waterfall and saw a lot of Krampus already besieging this place.

“Ready?” Myrdin made sure of me.

“Ready!” I nodded my head before we were back at the battlefield.

I attacked with all my might to protect this place, I won’t let Myrdin be disappointed at me.
