Chapter 13; Real Estate Business CEO!

Alex followed the pretty lady through the elevator. It never fails to amaze him to look at her amazonian waist sticking tightly on her classy Armani dress. Her skirt was above her knee, showing her pearly white long legs. Her oval-shaped face and the sculpted figure would put other well-known celebrities to shame.

'I wonder who she is...' Alex thought in his heart. He couldn't help but raise a question. "Um, miss, can you tell me your name?" 

In response to Alex, the pretty lady gave him a long sideways glance. The look on her face... It was as if she were telling him that he was unworthy to know her name.

Alex's brows twitched; this pretty lady's attitude was as proud as a peacock's! He mumbled to himself. 'Does she hate me or something?' 

Soon, Alex and the pretty lady arrive at the CEO's office. 

Initially, Alex had come to the conclusion that he would get fired as soon as they entered the CEO's office; however, to his surprise, the one sitting comfortably inside the office was....

Holy mother of ducks, it was his father, Charles Crown!

"Father?" Alex blurted out. He was baffled at seeing his father sitting comfortably behind the desk. "Why are you here?"

Alex inquired nonetheless; he had more or less guessed why.  

Charles Crown let out a fake cough. "Ahem, my son Alex, please sit down first. I have something important to discuss with you."

"You what?!" Alex's eyes widened, as it turned out his father had already bought the whole company!

"If you want, I could give this real estate company to you. How about it?"

Alex let out a wry smile; it seems that his father likes to flex his wealth.

"Ah, I almost forgot, this beautiful lady here is Ms. Athena Wadsworth. She is like a daughter to me." Charles Crown casually introduced her to Alex; he paused before continuing. "From now on, she will help you."

"I'll be in your care, young master Alex." Athena's voice was neither forceful nor submissive, as she answered while bowing elegantly.

But...

Based on Athena's expression while she was bowing, Alex found out that she looked a little unconvinced.

In Athena's opinion, Alex is the kind of the second generation who relies on his family's fortune and connections. That's the type of people she hated and despised the most!

On the other hand, Alex didn't share the same thought as her, as he lifted the corner of his lips. 

Out of the blue, Alex spoke. "Ms. Athena, are you great at the work?"

Hearing the young master ask such a question, the beautiful lady, Ms. Athena, was momentarily taken aback. Then, she proudly raised her head, her nose pointing at the sky.

"Of course!" Ms. Athena piped up arrogantly. There wasn't a shred of doubt in her mind that she would do a great job.

She had always perfected everything she did, whether it was academics or a task the house of Crown had issued to her; it was flawlessly executed, and even the elders of the family had greatly praised her for it.

Seeing Ms. Athena radiating with confidence, Alex smiled as he spoke to her. "Okay, then you could be the CEO of this company."

"Pardon?" Ms. Athena unconsciously blurted out.

Not only was Athena shocked, but Alex's father, Charles Crown, was also included as he gazed at his son in amazement.

At this point, Ms. Athena was in shock that Alex took the title of CEO as a game!

But Alex was deep in thought. This Landmaster Company is the largest real estate business in this area; its market stock prices are also astronomical; last year's revenue was around $50 million, and it's still growing. Numerous investors were very willing to invest!

It was unthinkable what method his father, Charles Crown, had used to get the shareholders to give up their shares, or maybe his father had simply bought it. Alex couldn't imagine how much money the house of Crown has in the end.

At this moment, Ms. Athena's voice could be heard cutting Alex's thoughts short.

"Young master Alex, by giving me the CEO position that the family head has given you and you giving it to me... are you trying to humiliate me?" Ms. Athena snapped at Alex, she was sharp with her words, a cold beauty indeed.

"N-No, I wouldn't do such a thing, Miss." Alex hastily denied it.

Just then, their attention was pulled as Charles Crown let out a burst of laughter. He was genuinely happy to see his son, Alex, and Athena conversing. To him, it means they are getting along quite well.

"From here on out, son, what would you do?" Charles Crown asked him while stroking his beard.

"Actually...."

Alex explained to his father that he didn’t want others to know that he was Charles Crown's son and the sole heir of the Crown family. He didn't want to be known as someone who relied on his father's rather than his own abilities.

It has to be mentioned that he preferred to play low-key. On top of that, when he was just an employee, he figured out numerous problems within the company.

"....that's all I wanted to say, father," Alex spoke in his heart as he waited for his father's response; whether his father would or wouldn't take his answer, he didn't really care after all; it was something in his heart. 

At this moment, Charles Crown's smile slowly disappeared. There was a tense atmosphere in the air. Truthfully speaking, he had always wanted a son that would someday surpass him in terms of ambition, and from what he had observed in Alex, he had potential.

"You can choose whatever title you want in this company; you are my son, and you have my permission." Charles Crown solemnly spoke with power and authority. He predicted that his son's decision would be wise.

Alex's facial expression turned deadly serious as he stepped forward and word by word announced something that made his father, Charles Crown, nearly choke on the coffee he was drinking, while a vein poked out of Ms. Athena's forehead; she was angry.

"I'll go to the worst department of the Landmaster company as a manager!"
