FORTY FOUR

She slipped into a plush robe, wrapping herself in it. Then, She tied the belt around her waist and felt so comfortable.

By the moment she came out, she was looking more refreshed. Harvey greeted her with a warm smile. "Hey, sis, how do you feel now? Hope the water helped?"

Nadia nodded, still feeling a bit fragile but trying to muster up some strength. "I feel good, yeah, the bath helped," she declared, but her voice was barely above a whisper. "Thanks, Harvey. You're the best brother anyone could ask for."

Harvey's face softened, the constant appreciation was getting him emotional.

"I’ve told you already, that’s what families are for, and you’re the only family I have left, if I don’t take care of you, who will? " he asked, staring at her. "Now, how about some breakfast? I made your favorite pancakes, and they're still warm from the griddle. And I even added some fresh fruit and whipped cream, just the way you like it."
