Garcia Anderson paced the floor of their living room, anxiety etched across her face. She wondered how they got to this level. Things were bad for them.

The once-proud Anderson family was in shambles and was beginning to be a laughingstock in the city. The weight of their financial ruin pressed heavily on her shoulders. Even Edward wasn't even paying attention to her. And wouldn't even lend her money.

The constant calls from creditors and the shame of their downfall were too much to bear. Desperation had driven her to seek out someone she never thought she would need—Harvey.
