THIRTY NINE

It was a sunny Wednesday, Harvey woke up at 7:00 am to the sound of his alarm blaring in his ear. He sleepily reached over to it and turned it off.

“This damn alarm would definitely make me deaf one day,” he grumbled. And sat up in bed, rubbing the sleep off from his eyes. Then, he yawned, stretching his arms above his head, and swung his legs over the side of the bed. His feet searched for his slippers and found them tucked away under the bed, exactly where he had left them the night before. He slipped his feet into the soft slippers. He stood up, his legs slightly wobbly from the sudden movement, and made his way to the kitchen. Even though he had his maids, he usually did his kitchen activities by himself.

As he walked, the soft slippers barely made a sound on the floor, and it felt quiet . The sunlight was streaming through the window showing the small dust particles floating around, and the scent of fresh coffee beans filled his nostrils, tempting him to start the brewing.
