Morty walked through the halls of the Hilburg Police Department, his footsteps steady, but his heart heavy.

It had been two days since he and Ivan broke into his father’s office, two days since they stole the documents that could bring down the Numas, two days since he had destroyed Sergeant Kyle’s life.

And now, as he made his way toward his father’s office, snippets of hushed conversations between officers drifted into his ears.
