Lisa sat at the large oak desk in her bedroom, flipping through pages of legal documents with a heavy sigh.

The past two months had been exhausting... court dates, press conferences, endless paperwork.

The case against the Numas was progressing, but slowly, as expected, Henry Numa’s legal team fought tooth and nail, using every trick in the book to delay proceedings, bury evidence, or outright intimidate her into dropping the case.

None of it worked...

Lisa was scared, of course, but she refused to back down, at least, that’s what she told herself... In truth she just didn't want to let down Lloyd since he believed in her so much

She rubbed her temples, exhaustion creeping in.

Her shoulder ached from the long hours of hunching over legal documents, but she couldn't afford to slow down, the next court date was in two days, and she had to be prepared.

She was about to take a break when a loud crash sounded from outside.

Lisa jumped in her chair, her heart hammering.
