Vera

“What are you waiting for, punk?” Harry yelled angrily and faced Justin to try and ask him to call the security when he froze on the spot as he noticed how breet red his uncle's face was.

“What's going on, uncle? Are you feeling sick? Do you have a fever?” He muttered as he tried to check up on him but Justin lost it and sent a slap at him.

“You are the one that is sick! Get out of here before I send you to jail, you moron!” He cursed angrily then quickly turned towards Evan shaking profusely.

“What? Uncle what are you doing?” Harry frowned. He ignored the stinging pain on his left cheek as he was confused with what his uncle was doing.

He was about to say something when he suddenly noticed something admiss. He frowned and turned towards the other families only to see how red their faces were…. They were furious!

“You little punk! Did you lose home training in your previous life?” The mayor boomed.

“Get this brat out of here before I lost it,” He added. He was already sweating profusely.

What if Evan got angry and leave this place?

How are they going to invite him!

Thinking of this made their blood roar more in rage.

Harry stood there reluctantly as he never expected to be humiliated like that. He turned towards Evan with deep resentment and was stunned to see the young man eating.

“What?” Harry gasped.

“What do you mean by ‘what?’ Get out!” Justin slapped his face and Harry's legs gave way to the floor.

He tried to get up but it felt as though the world was spinning around him. He shook his head and got up again.

“Uncle?” He muttered but the next thing he knew, he was outside the room and the door was shut hard on his face.

'Damn it!’ He cursed angrily as he laid there on the floor with great resentment.

‘I don't know what you did to get there but I will make sure you don't get on their good side.’

At the same time. Silence finally returned to the room and Justin slowly turned towards Evan with shaky legs.

“Please sir. Do not take that silly actions of my nephew in heart,” He begged.

Evan stared at him for a while but didn't say a word.

“Please sir. I don't have anything to use and make you forgive him but just know that he still has a child's brain. Just overlook his actions,” He begged profusely.

How was he going to get away from this?

‘I swear Harry, if I missed this business opportunity because of you. I'll make sure I skin you alive!’

He cursed profusely in his mind but still kept on apologizing.

“I'll let this slide once because of you, but if you don't know how to keep your nephew in check. I am afraid he might bring disaster to your family,” Evan calmly replied then faced his meal.

Seeing this Justin felt as though the world had crashed before him. He bowed slightly then turned and sat on his chair.

The mayor on the other hand felt like history was repeating itself.

'First it was one crazy woman and now it's one crazy nephew.’ He shook his head and kept on eating.

The atmosphere suddenly went from bad to worse as the big shots suddenly had a terrible feeling that Evan was going to cancel this meeting soon.

Evan on the other hand didn't notice this as his eyes were fixed on the message sent to him.

<I'll be in Santo city soon!>

'What?’ Evan's eyes widened slightly then a soft expression appeared on his once cold eyes.

He was about to send a reply when his phone started ringing.

“Hello?” He calmly replied.

“Hello brother! What's up? It's has been so long I heard your calm, cold and indifferent voice! I thought Claus and William would change you but I guess I was wrong!” A cheerful and vibrant voice sounded from the phone.

“Vera,” Evan muttered then stared at the big shots in the room.

“I saw your message. When are you coming?” He asked.

“Is that why you ignored my first sentences?” She sneered.

Evan kept quiet, an indication that he doesn't want to answer that.

“Whatever. I'll be in Santo city soon… very, very, soon. So just be on alert anytime you hear a big news that I conquered a city,” She laughed out loud.

“Don't cause any trouble, Vera,” Evan shook his head then said, “I'll be waiting for you. When your flight arrive at the airport. I'll come over to pick you up,”

“Okay dokey! I've noted that. Oh my, my number is next, see yah!” She giggled then hung up the call.

Evan slowly placed the phone on the desk then paused and stared at the men.

“What's wrong?” He frowned. He noticed how strangely they stared at him.

“Oh my. We are very sorry, but we were stunned by the smile on your face. We wonder who that person might be,” The mayor muttered and all the big shots sent glares at him.

'Must you speak everything that comes to your mind?’

Evan stared at them then back at his phone.

The lady who called him brother was Vera Anderson. Her father was Evan's father's best friend. She lived in Mongolia.

After their parents disappeared, she managed the company with Claus for him.

Until one year ago after Evan had got a grasp on how to do business she let it go and left the country.

“Ahem, sir!” Jordan stood up with a cigar in hand.

“Do you mind joining us?” He asked.

Evan stared at the cigar then back at him. He shook his head then took out a pack of cheap cigarettes.

“We can work on this one,” He muttered and the men in the room laughed out loud.

They took the cigarettes from him and smoked it like street gangsters.

“I heard the news about what happened in your banquet sir Mayor,” Jordan smirked.

“Ah, same here. Those little families are really arrogant. Do they really think that someone with rag clothes can't change their lives?” David shook his head.

“Now they have missed a golden opportunity that could have changed their lives,” The mayor said, then took a deep long drag of the cigarettes then puffed it out.

“How unfortunate,”
