The first thing that entered his eyes was the huge circular metal table situated at the centre of the room.

Seated around this table were the members of the Stinging nettles though they were visibly missing two members.

The next thing was how bright the room was and the fact that there were some communication equipment there.

In fact there was a wall mounted screen that was showing a 3D map of sorts directly opposite him.

It was like this place was never cut off from the grid.

  How was that possible?!

Since day one of the apocalypse power had been totally cut off with all electrical appliances and gadgets turning useless. Plus this place was on the outskirts of Barnes city,in an abandoned military training base!

Even if there was electricity here previously, there shouldn't be any here now.

This however, further affirmed his belief that what was about to be said in this room would definitely be weighty. It might truly affect the continued existence of the Raisin camp!

“Welcome kiddo what took you so long ? We've been waiting for you since you know.”

The one who spoke now was Thomas. It was just that he was seated in a wheelchair with bandages all over his body except his face.

Glancing around the table Ethan's eyes landed on the two empty spots.

Tracy,Thomas,James,Greg, Burt and Mira. While they might have sustained injuries of varying degrees they were still alive even if some of them were fully casted like Thomas. The only ones not there were Dave and Burt as they were the only Stinging Nettle member that was killed.

  “Sigh…”

Seeing the sad look in his face Thomas couldn't say anything and just wheeled himself back to the table. He could understand why Ethan's expression was so down since he and Dave were practically sworn brothers despite the fact that Dave was against Ethan at first.

Finally after some seconds Ethan made his way to one of the chairs and sat down.

Seeing that everyone was already seated Thomas started to speak.

“Alright guys, you might be wondering why I called this meeting right?”

   “Yeah."

Nodding everyone looked towards Thomas who took a deep breath. What he was about to say next was something that he was sure would shock the others.

“If I told you that I and my elder brother knew about this monster horde before what would you do?"

Instantly the expression of everyone in the room changed as looks of disbelief, rage and surprise came to everyone's faces.

While everyone looked like they had something to say,James beat everyone to it.

Standing up shakily,he pointed at Thomas while his voice trembled.

“You mean that you knew a commander level monster was coming and you didn't say anything! Do you know how many people could have been saved!"

Seeing that James was already getting unstable,Mira quickly stood up.

James wait a minute and let's hear Thomas out."

James however was already consumed by anger especially after hearing Thomas say that he was aware of the in coming monsters.

"Don't tell me to keep quiet! My brother died there!"

"And so did mine and many other powermasters on this camp!”

Eyes as huge as bells,Thomas yelled back causing James to go quiet and the room to become erieely silent. The shock on everyone's faces was enough to demonstrate their surprise.

The situation was already volatile with an unstable James in the picture. However with Thomas yelling back in anger it was like bringing a spark close to a barrel of gunpowder. There was so much tension in the air it was almost tangible!

However a voice surprisingly broke that.

“I think you all should calm down and hear Thomas out.!

Instantly everyone turned to look at the source of the voice which was Ethan's. Sensing that the atmosphmere in the room was getting tense he had to say something to dispel it. Infighting was not what they needed right now.

   “Alright.”

  Slowly sitting down,James muttered.

Mouthing a thank you Thomas looked at his teammates before starting.

“On the day we arrived from our last raid my brother received a transmission from the AADAF central base and to say that the content of the transmission is shocking is an understatement.”

Grabbing a tape recording he placed it in the record player before looking at the others.

“I think you should listen to it yourself.”

Pressing the play button, the sound of static filled room before fizzling out. Then a male voice started to speak.

   [“Mister Tyson?"]

  [" General Lebronsky.”]

["I went to Gabon to find money..”]

["....and I came back with a bucket of tofu!”]

   Everyone:”......"

Hearing the secret code between the two people conversing everyone had a “what the hell is this?“ kind of look on their faces. Right after that though the recording continued playing.

[“There is a situation,a very bad one.”]

[“How bad?"]

There was a long period of silence from the other line presumabley the general's before a stressed response finally came over.

  [“Code Zulu alpha bad!"]

    [“What!”]

  And then the recording stopped.

  "WHAT!"

Just like the end of the recording, everyone in the room also exclaimed loudly with the exception of Ethan who was just looking clueless.

  “What's Zulu alpha?"

" It's a threat level code that the military gave out to categorize monsters.”

With a grave face Greg began.

“There are seven levels: Zulu orange,Zulu green,Zulu blue,Zulu alpha,Red catastrophe and the highest violet catastrophe.”

"While the two threat levels above Zulu alpha seem higher, they are just speculations. The highest threat recorded anywhere in the world is Zulu alpha which means that there is a Xenogenic Alpha in the horde.”

“In comparison, while the monster that attacked the camp seemed to be extremely powerful it was just a mere commander. A Xenogenic Alpha is two levels stronger than that!”

  “Huff!!?"

Hearing Greg's explanation Ethan wasn't able to hide his shock as his eyes widened. Ifall what he had just heard were true then it explained the reason a commander level monster would show up here.

  “Thanks Greg for the explanation.”

Wheeling himself to the side,Thomas picked a pointer before touching the map displayed in the screen.

"According to the plan before, the AADAF had already found the lair of the monster, here!"

Tapping a block of jagged mountain tops he looked at the group.

“We were planning to break the news of the mission to you guys that morning but then the rest went as we all know it went.”

“It wasn't as if we also knew that such aknsyer would show up. It was simply out if our calculations.”

After a while of silence,James who had cooled down finally asked.

“We just faced a commander tier monster and we lost badly. Were still in the process of recuperation.By showing this to us what do you want to achieve?”

Firming his expression up,Thomas looked at everyone before asking.

“Is there anyone still interested in continuing the mission?”

Honestly speaking,Thomas felt that he wasn't supposed to ask this question. In fact he shouldn't have asked if he was being logical here. However as the leader of the Raisin camp now he just had to. He had to be selfish for the lives of the over two hundred people that was at stake if he didn't. Looking at their faces he could see the hesitation and reluctance causing him to feel like this was a lost cause. He couldn't blame them though as their fears were pretty understandable. They had just fought with a commander tier monster and it totally wrecked them. Going up a against a Xenogenic Alpha tier monster two tiers higher?,that would just be like serving up their lives on a platter! They had visited the borders of death once and they weren't ready to visit it anytime soon. I guess I'll just tell the general that we'll not be joining the raid. Brother I tried but……sigh. Taking off the helmet, the rider turned out to be none other than Ethan. “Luckily I was able to get here before nightfall.” By now the sun had just fully set and everywhere had gone dark. Afternoon. The time of the day when the sun was at its peak. Due to the special geography of Barnes city and it's environs it received a lot of sun daily. The highest temperature recorded in the day had once reached a staggering 41 degrees Celsius! While today's temperature wasn't that high it was still hot enough to cause one to sweat bullets. With how hot everywhere was the best thing to do right now would be to sleep and that was what the sentrys of the AADAF base were currently doing. While you might accuse them of slacking off on duty they couldn't really be blamed. Furthermore, the probably wouldn't have anything to do since the monsters that were supposed to attack them would be busy battling the Hellstrike expedition force so they really wouldn't have much to do.
