However as the leader of the Raisin camp now he just had to. He had to be selfish for the lives of the over two hundred people that was at stake if he didn't.
Looking at their faces he could see the hesitation and reluctance causing him to feel like this was a lost cause. He couldn't blame them though as their fears were pretty understandable.
They had just fought with a commander tier monster and it totally wrecked them. Going up a against a Xenogenic Alpha tier monster two tiers higher?,that would just be like serving up their lives on a platter!

Ethan however wasn't detered by her harsh time,rather,he just gave a casual nod causing Mira and the rest to let out an exasperated sigh. Even Thomas who was hoping for someone to take the gauntlet was stunned.

The reason he was trying hard to get someone from the Stinging Nettles on the strike team was just to ensure the interest of the raisin camp.
Actually,he wasn't even sure if he would also agree to go after witnessing how destructive a commander tier monster could be.
Not was not about being a coward but simply an unbridgable power gap.

Greg and Burt were bandaged up from their chest up to their arms while James and Tracy were not in good shape either. Mira was so weak that she couldn't even use her powers for anything substantial and no one knew when her powers would be restored.
He on the other hand…well calling him a cripple wasn't wrong was it?
He was confined to a wheelchair and bandaged fully like an Egyptian mummy!
So in a sense Ethan was right.
But the worry of a lone teenager travelling out just to partake in such a military operation was still heavy on his mind. It made him feel like he was taking advantage of him. However his next words made that feeling set in stone.
“Furthermore am not someone who doesn't repay favours. You gave me a home I can't just watch it get destroyed now,can I?"
Hearing this Thomas knew that this was a favour he would never be able to repay. He could have simply called off this meeting in the first place and tell the AADAF base that they would not be able to make it straight. Looking at the clear sky that was full of stars he felt endless admiration for them. It was a beautiful sight that had accompanied humanity since they existed. However,as industralization took place and human society progressed this beautiful sight was gradually obscured by pollutants and was lost.
After the apocalypse all that changed though since most of human activities that caused pollution was halted. It gradually brought back the clear skies allowing their beauty to be seen once again.
After entering his cabin,Ethan lied on the bed while facing the ceiling. He was currently reflecting on the choices he made few hours earlier.
Why did he agree to take on the mission?
Honestly, he wasn't also sure!
He could have just left everything to the jointforce that the AADAF central base was gathering but he wouldn't be satisfied. He felt like if there was no one from the Raisin camp there they would literally be having their backs open to danger.
What if the others gave up quickly when they couldn't fight the monsters. What would happen then? What if it was one person's effort that would decide the final result of the upcoming battle.
All in all he just knew that he had this burning desire to protect this place,his new home.

He didn't know but that word held a place in his heart that just seemed stuck in place. Funny thing was that he couldn't remember anything about this own that made it so dear to him.
No matter what though,he could confirm that it must have been nice for him to still remember the word despite losing his memories.

The first thing that entered his eyes was the huge circular metal table situated at the centre of the room. Seated around this table were the members of the Stinging nettles though they were visibly missing two members. The next thing was how bright the room was and the fact that there were some communication equipment there. Since day one of the apocalypse power had been totally cut off with all electrical appliances and gadgets turning useless.
