monster that looked like an dodo but with four legs stood in one of the bushes by the side of the road while
glaring at its own reflection in a puddle of water.
Today was the fourth day since it had last eaten and right now it was not an exaggeration to say that it could eat anything.
While it could go out hunting,it dared not to as most of the monsters out there were stronger than it. It was just a rogue tier,venturing near them would be just like offering itself up for dinner!
Thus it had devised this method of lying in wait by the roadside just to ambush it's unknowing prey and it was working out pretty fine as it git more food to eat. Ever since it had started this method it couldn't help but feel continuous pride in itself for devising this method.
And it's prey you might ask?
Humans of course!
Since it couldn't hunt other monsters since they were stronger than it humans were the only meal it could affor-cough hunt!
They had bouncy,juicy skin yet tasty but tender flesh. It favourite part was the spine. It really loved ripping out the spine of a screaming human while watching them scream to death. It just seemed to add to the flavour.
Gulp!
Unknowingly,the monster had actually started salivating just from it's thought. Sadly it didn't think it could have that experience anytime soon as even those weak humans had suddenly started becoming strong these days.
All the humans that passed by this place had scary auras that scared it's bird brain half to death.
It had even had a close brush with one that nearly cost it it's life.
With a sad expression it thought to itself.
If only a weak lone human would just pass by like the good old days

Vroom ,vroom!
Right then the monster suddenly perked up before it
hurried to hide in the bush. Peeking out of a corner it blocked twice as if to confirm something before it suddenly had this silly smile on it's face.
From far away it coould make out the sounds of the metal thingy that humans always rode on. It hated those things but at least it allowed it to know when it's prey was coming.
It had heard the sounds first but thought it was just hearing stuff. Turns out it really wasn't.
Staring down the road it could make out the figure of a human sitting in on a metal thingy with two legs. Smacking it's lips it could already imagine the juicy flesh of the humans in it's maws and was just waiting for the right moment to attack when it suddenly felt something fly past it's face.
It was still stunned when it suddenly felt a like the world was spinning before seeing the human weez away on his metal thingy.
Noo it's dinner was running away.
It was still thinking about that when it suddenly saw it’s own body causing it to shake it's head in confusion.
Turning it's eyes it looked at the back of the human driving away while thinking.
“Why am I seeing my own body?”
And that was the last scene it saw as it watched the human dissapear over the horizon.

Dressed in an all black leather attire Ethan looked like one of those badass op agents in those James bond movies.
Across his back was a long sleek looking rifle while across his waist was a sabre. On the numerous pockets of the leather jacket,knives and magzines poked their heads out while he had some other stuff hidden in his other pockets. He was essentially a walking weapons warehouse.
Below him was an equally black motorcycle that looked like it had been remodeled by the devil himself. Despite the high speeds that the bike was travelling at there was a very minimum amount of sound being produced.
Speeding under the illumination of the setting sun,all that was needed to make this perfect would be a nice road song and a pair of shades for the rider and BAM you got yourself a supermodel!
But since this was the apocalypse there sadly was no one to appreciate this scene.
Naturally the driver was Ethan!
“That's one weird ass monster!”
Turning a bend,Ethan couldn't help but mutter as he thought of the monster he had just dispatched. While this was not the first monster he had killed today it was somehow the dumbest he had ever encountered.
It was so dumb he could feel it from a mile away. It literally left itself out in the open to be killed.
If monsters had a stupidity ranking there wouldn't be any monster that would dare drag first place with it!
Shrugging he shook the thought out of his mind.
“Well that's not my priority.”
Right now the only thing on his mind was to get to the city before nightfall in order to find somewhere suitable to stay.
He didn't dare to stay outside the city for too long. No one knew what could happen especially at night when monsters were super active. Also he was a one man team,there was nobody else with him whom he could rely on.
“Wow! All these happened within one month?"
By now he was already able to see the skyline of Barnes city. Unlike in the last the whole place was already desolate and filled with dense shrubs and vegetation.
He couldn't hide the surprise in his face as he could spot farmiliar buildings like the Barnes trade center all covered in plants.
”It seemed like the monsterization didn't only affect humans and animals. It must have also affected plants too,I'd better watch out for the plants too.”
By now the sun was already half way through setting and he knew that he needed to get a place to stay tonight and fast.
Revving the engine of the bike,he sped straight into the city leaving countless houses at the edge of the city behind and soon his figure had dissapeared with only the sound from his engine being heard.

On the highway leading out of Barnes city,a truck could be seen rushing past the buildings . There was a black motorcycle in the back while four people consisting of three men and a lady sat surrounding it. Inside the truck there were two men,one driving while the other was well not really doing anything bringing the total to six. Suddenly from one of the abandoned houses on the side of the road a tiger like monster suddenly jumped out with the intention of ambushing the truck. However,before it could even step on the asphalt,there was a bang and it fell on the spot having received a bullet to the head. Blowing the smoke off the tip of the gun,the shooter proceeded to place the weapon by his side while watching the number faces of his co travellers. Inside the AADAF central base. The sounds of equipment and artillery being moved around could be heard in the base. Countless personnel were on ground to direct and coordinate the activities currently ongoing. WOOSH, WOOSH, WOOSH! Over a dozen armoured vans wheezed by as they drove towards a mini parking lot where they halted while military grade trucks reversed so that the ammunitions and supplies could be placed in them. Operation Hellstrike commenced today! Well technically not today as it had started ever since General Lebronsky first tabled the idea. However,in a sense it was still right as this was the first time that something tangible would be done. Previously the only thing being done was just preparations,today was the day that they would really advance to put the operation in motion. “Today finally came!" Afternoon. The time of the day when the sun was at its peak. Due to the special geography of Barnes city and it's environs it received a lot of sun daily. The highest temperature recorded in the day had once reached a staggering 41 degrees Celsius! While today's temperature wasn't that high it was still hot enough to cause one to sweat bullets. With how hot everywhere was the best thing to do right now would be to sleep and that was what the sentrys of the AADAF base were currently doing. It was a sunny morning as the busy street jerked to its daily chores, everyone seems preoccupied. Students could be seen hurrying up towards a bridge as large number of crowd had gathered to take a look at a death scene. "Oh my goodness! Is that child still breathing?" One began. The first thing that entered his eyes was the huge circular metal table situated at the centre of the room. Seated around this table were the members of the Stinging nettles though they were visibly missing two members. The next thing was how bright the room was and the fact that there were some communication equipment there. In fact there was a wall mounted screen that was showing a 3D map of sorts directly opposite him. It was like this place was never cut off from the grid. How was that possible?! Since day one of the apocalypse power had been totally cut off with all electrical appliances and gadgets turning useless. Plus this place was on the outskirts of Barnes city,in an abandoned military training base!Even if there was electricity here previously,there shouldn't be any here now. This however, further affirmed his belief that what was about to be said in this room would definitely be weighty. It might truly affect the continued existence of the Raisin camp!
