2025-03-24 02:38:51Afternoon. The time of the day when the sun was at its peak. Due to the special geography of Barnes city and it's environs it received a lot of sun daily. The highest temperature recorded in the day had once reached a staggering 41 degrees Celsius!
While today's temperature wasn't that high it was still hot enough to cause one to sweat bullets. With how hot everywhere was the best thing to do right now would be to sleep and that was what the sentrys of the AADAF base were currently doing. While you might accuse them of slacking off on duty they couldn't really be blamed. Furthermore,the probably wouldn't have anything to do since the monsters that were supposed to attack them would be busy battling the Hellstrike expedition force so they really wouldn't have much to do. The strike force had left the camp over two hours ago and by now they should just be approaching the mountain range,the battle that would decide if humans could continue settling around this area would soon begin. Technically since the monsters were supposed to be fighting the expedition force there shouldn't be any issue but then…. ROOOOOAR! A mighty roar came from the direction of the forest causing the faces of everyone in the camp to change. Due to the success of the power project the AADAF military base was able to turn everybody in it's camp to powermasters. The only thing was that except for the non-combat personnel and about a troop of soldiers there was no much manpower protecting the base. This the panic that followed was understandable. However,thanks to the military training they had taken they were able to soon calm down. “Everybody to their respective posts!" Standing inside the command center Commander Roland stood before the central wall mounted screen. He was put in place by General Lebronsky to helm the base before he left. Watching the live feed they were soon able to spot the owner of that roar. A huge monster that looked like a goat was mashed with a snake could be seen heading towards the camp. It had a goats head and four legs but then there was a snake like tale covered with scales that continued from it's back. It looked extremely unsettling. Judging from the energy fluctuations their meters were reading it had to be a commander tier—a very strong one at that. Frowning,commander Roland stared at the screen while muttering to himself. “Why would a lone commander level beast come here?” However,he wasn't able to answer that question as the monster was fast approaching,if he didn't do anything the gate would be knocked down by it. Luckily he didn't have to go out to fight by himself. Speaking into the microphone in his hand he gave the orders. “Teams one,two and three,prepare the rocket launchers and attack at will. Do not let the monster take a step closer.” " Yes sir.” Immediately,the sound of missiles whooshing through the air could be heard as they rushed towards the beast. Strangely enough the monster didn't dodge,heck it didn't even move out of the way causing a deeper frown to form on his face. The next moment a series of explosions could be heard as each and everyone of the missles found it's mark. Each of these missiles were special missiles created to combat commander tier monsters in particular. They were very effective at dealing them damage if they were not killed outright. But still that strange feeling didn't leave him instead it grew stronger,it was as if something was about to go wrong. And something did go wrong! Before the smoke could fully clear up a loud roar was heard as the monster burst out with nary an injury on its body. Instantly Commander Roland eyes turned into pinpricks as he saw the monster that was charging at the gate. For the monster to come out unscathed from all those missiles there was only one meaning. What they were dealing with wasn't a commander tier monster but rather a general tier. Observing their energy meter readings he soon confirmed that it's energy levels had increased! When his thoughts got here he couldn't help but shiver. He was also an awakened but the most he could deal with was commander tier and weak ones at that. A general tier monster would simply be too much. He knew that he couldn't face the monster and thus without hesitation he opened a small hatch that housed a red button. This button was an alarm to tell everybody to hide in the underground bunkers. He wasn't sure if it could hold up against a general tier monster as there was nothing he could do. He was just about to press the button when he suddenly heard something causing him to pause. The charging monster also paused it's ears twitching before turning abruptly as if it sensed something dangerous coming along. Vroooom, vroooom!!! Right then everyone watching saw a pitsh black motorcycle suddenly pop out from the road leading to the camp with a person on top Fast and furious style. For a few seconds it was as if time had frozen as they all watched the rider jump off the motorcycle in midair before whipping out a pair of guns from his sides. The next moment,two sharp bullet sounds rang out which was immediately followed by the sound of something slicing through the air could be heard. What came next was the monster's miserable wails. Raaawwr Watching the whole scene from the monitoring screen, Commander Roland wasn't able to close his mouth for some time. “OMG that's too OP!" The way that person moved was like a scene from a movie! And also he was able to cause the monster to wail meaning that he caused it damage! He wounded a general tier monster in one exchange! However that was not all as the stranger started falling down before smoothly landing on his motorcycle. He turned towards the beast before raising his middle finger up which undoubtedly provoked the beast into rushing towards him. He also didn't shrink away as he drove his motorcycle towards the beast while standing. When they were about five meters away from each other,he suddenly jumped up with a saber in his hand. The beast also opened it's maws in preparation to bite the human to pieces. However the human was faster than it as in the next moment….. RIP!!! A sound reminiscent of leather tearing was heard as the sabers blade sliced through the neck of the monster cleanly causing it to fly up high. SPURT! SPURT!! SPURT!!! BAM!! Like a fountain that had been broken,jets of blood started to flow from the monster's neck before it ultimately collapsed on the floor kicking up a lot of dust in the process. By now Commander Roland's eyes were twitching violently. What the hell did he just see?! That battle looked like a scene being shit for a Hollywood movie not like it was a real battle at all. It was like both parties were coordinating their attacks to achieve a cinematic effect. “Huh?" Seeing that the mysterious stranger had started making his way towards the camp he hurriedly came out to meet him. Driving to the entrance the mysterious powermaster and Commander Roland soon came face to face causing Roland to be on his toes. Naturally the mysterious powermaster was none other than Ethan who was just arriving. He was supposed to have arrived since morning but the rain the previous day had caused a lot of damage to the trees falling some of them down hence why he was late. They were about a kilometer away or so when he felt the energy fluctuations of this monster and he came to check it out taking the motorcycle instead of waiting for the pickup truck. And that proved to be right as was able to kill the monster before it caused serious damage. The only thing on his mind right now was that the expedition force hadn't left yet. “Goo-good afternoon am the commanding officer of the AADAF base right now. May I kn-” “ I'm the reinforcement from the Raisin camp.” Before he could finish his question Ethan had cut him off. “Reinforcement?” With a weird look on his face commander Roland looked at Ethan. Seeing the puzzled expression on the latter's face he wanted to facepalm but he didn't have the time to. Giving a rushed intro Commander Roland soon understood why he was here alone. “Ohhh.. so that's how it is. So you're just the reinforcement you say?” Damn but a single reinforcement is so strong? When will I be like him? Wait can I even be like him? He was still thinking about this when Ethan spoke again “So the expedition team hasn't left right?" Snapping out of his reverie he hurried to answer. “Err…Well they left just two short hours ago so I'll just say that you stay ba—Vroom!” Before Commander Roland could complete his sentence the sound of a motorcycle’s engine revving cut him off. The next moment he saw the black motorcycle speed off in the direction of the expedition force while a gradually decreasing voice came from it. “Those people with me are survivours from a camp that I found along the way, they're in your custody now!" With an incredulous expression commander Roland looked at the back of the vanishing motorcycle. “What the hell just happened now?"
