Zaiden stood his ground as the guards closed in, "Is this, how you treat people?".

Mr. Randall leaned back with a smug expression, watching with satisfaction. "This is what happens when a man doesn't know his place," he sneered. “You have brought this on yourself, blind fellow.”

Zaiden’s expression remained calm, his blind eyes focused forward. He could feel the shift in the air as the guards surrounded him, the subtle vibrations in the floor from their movements. His senses were razor-sharp, honed from years of adapting without sight.

One guard stepped forward, baton raised. Zaiden dodged, moving with a fluid precision that shocked everyone in the room. His hand shot out, gripping the man’s wrist and twisting until the baton fell from his grasp with a loud clang. In one swift motion, Zaiden spun, using the man’s own momentum to throw him to the floor.

The other guards hesitated, momentarily stunned by his unexpected prowess. They all stepped back.

But Mr. Randall barked, “What are you waiting for? Take him down!”.

The guards attacked all at once. Zaiden dodged, ducking under a swinging baton and landing a solid punch to one guard's abdomen, sending him stumbling back. Another came from behind, but Zaiden sensed his movement, catching his arm mid-swing and flipping him over his shoulder. Each move was precise, calculated—Zaiden fought as if he could see them all, predicting their attacks with an uncanny instinct.

Cynthia struggled against her mother’s grip, crying out, “Stop it! You are hurting him! He saved me, and this is how you repay him?” But her words fell on deaf ears as her family looked on with disdain.

One guard managed to get close, slashing his baton down toward Zaiden's head. Zaiden shifted, catching the weapon just inches from his face, then twisted it out of the guard’s grip. With a quick, forceful strike, he disarmed two more, leaving them groaning on the ground.

Dustin watched in disbelief, his face pale. “What... what kind of blind man fights like this?”.

Fiona pointed at him, "He .... he is a monster!".

"How is that possible!, These guards are definitely paid actors, there is absolutely no way a blind man did this just now", Another person said.

Zaiden wiped a trickle of blood from his lip, his calm composure never wavering. He stepped over the fallen guards, turning his face toward Mr. Randall. “Is This is how you treat someone who helped your family?”

Mr. Randall’s smug expression faltered, his voice wavering with anger. “You... you will regret this!".

Cynthia smiled after seeing that he is okay, "Grandfather, please let not drag this, I want him also!".

Just as Mr. Randall was about to talk, the door was knocked and Fiona immediately stood up to opened it.

She stepped left side for the person to come in view, and it was Collins.

Cynthia immediately stood up, and was shocked. Collins was Cynthia's fiancé before her blindness, he stayed with her for some months, then he immediately disssapread, never to be found.

Because of her, Cynthia went into depression because she really loved him and he was the only thing that was making her happy.

"Collins", She muttered.

Collins, the Heir of the Cenzo family stood there with a smile and uttered also, "Oh no, my Cynthia!".

Cynthia's face hardened as he approached her, and when he attempted to embrace her, she shoved him away with surprising force.

"Where were you, Collins? All those times I needed you, when I couldn’t see a thing, you vanished. You left me to fend for myself in the dark, and now—now you show up, just because I can see?".

Collins's expression faltered, but he quickly composed himself, flashing a practiced smile. "Cynthia, my father sent me on an urgent business trip. It was so critical and confidential that I had to cut off all contact. I didn't intentionally left you, I'm sorry".

"Stop it, Collins." Her voice was laced with disdain as she stared him down. "That's just an excuse, and you know it. so, why do you happen to be here, when I can see?".

Collins feigned a look of hurt. "I just got back today, Cynthia. When I heard the rumors that you’d regained your sight, I had to come and see for myself. And I’m so happy…so happy it’s true.”

As he spoke, members of the family began to murmur approvingly, casting disdainful glances at Zaiden.

One of Cynthia’s aunts chimed in, her voice dripping with satisfaction. “Now, isn’t Collins the kind of man who belongs with you, Cynthia? you can see and your Fiancé is back, A man of status, wealth, and charm—someone who knows his place.”

Fiona chimed in, .”Exactly, you both just have to clear your misunderstanding, and you are good, Collins is everything, compare to this blind man!".

“He’s right, Cynthia,” her mother added, stepping forward. “ You deserve someone who can provide for you, someone like Collins.”

Zaiden stood quietly as the family showered Collins with praise and belittled him with veiled insults.

Collins, emboldened by the support, looked at Cynthia with a smug smile. “Cynthia, come on. Let’s put the past behind us. We were meant to be together, and we can pick up right where we left off".

Everyone was Quiet for Cynthia's response.

Cynthia crossed her arms, her expression resolute. “No, Collins. I’m not the girl you left behind. I am not swayed by charm and empty promises anymore", She stood up and went to meet Zaiden and hold him in his hand, "He cure me, and I know that without me getting my sight, you wouldn't he here today, so I choose him, I want to be with him".

The room fell into a tense silence as Cynthia’s words hung in the air. Collins’s confident smirk faded, replaced by an angered glint in his eyes.

Cynthia felt bad for Zaiden, her family betrayed him. And also, she was there when his ex girlfriend left him and he was just a blind fellow. She felt that he needed help and obliged herself to do it. she decided to marry him, no matter what!.
