You better watch your back
As he spoke, his voice was hoarse. If Carlos Paddington was close by, he would have been torn into shreds.
Kelvin held him by the shoulder, gradually lowering him to his seat in consolation.
"Calm down Zachary, you will see your father soon and when he is ready to face you. For now, there are more important things I want you to focus on."
Just as Kelvin was still speaking, May walked in with a glass of Cranberry juice. Walking to place it at the table before Zachary, She said. "I made fresh Cranberry juice for my grandson."
"Come on, go on and try it. You would definitely love it."
Zachary thanked her for the gesture. Just what he needed to calm his anger. Especially as it is his favorite juice. He really admired the old lady, though she was stricken with age, she still looked strong and even cooks.
Indeed she was a strong lady.
"We have over a dozen domestic staff in this Mansion, yet you prefer to stress yourself with house chores." Kelvin scolded his wife who just laughed it off.
No matter how much he scolds her, she never listens. Kelvin already knew who his wife was but would keep repeating the same lines over and over again.
May smiled and walked out after serving her grandson. She preferred to be in the Kitchen than to be in the company of the men.
She likes staying around the house chef while they experiment on different food recipes. All the staff were so fond of her.
Kelvin immediately turned to Zachary to continue what he was saying.
"As I was saying Son, we need to focus on the things that are more important."
He made a gesture to Benedict who immediately brought out a Black card and placed it before him.
"In that card is a sum of a hundred million dollars. Use the money and have a change of your wardrobe and everything about you. Tomorrow morning, the driver will take you to the Influitive Oil and gas where I will be introducing you to the Staff."
Zachary widened his gaze as the card was placed before him. He could not believe his eyes.
He has become a millionaire overnight. He collected the card, still looking puzzled.
Kelvin nodded at him.
He looked at Benedict who was smiling the whole time.
He must be dreaming. He closed his eyes and opened them again with the two men smiling at him.
It was just the three of them in the room as all the guards were out while a few were standing outside the study.
Kelvin suddenly remembered something he had asked before but had not gotten the answer.
"Uhm, I remember I asked you a question outside which you have not responded to."
Zachary looked at him confusingly. He was absorbing a lot of revelation at once that had forgotten the question.
"Would you like to stay here with your Nana and I or My Villa in Bay City."
Zachary did not give a direct answer, instead he said. "I would like to be Visiting you and Nana."
Kelvin was impressed with his grandson's answer. He was indeed intelligent.
"Ok then, we will be seeing each other tomorrow."
Kelvin introduced him to all the staff and asked his driver to take him to Bay City where he was assigned his own staff.

Kelvin woke up like a King. This time, he took his time to prepare. It was no longer like before when he would have to rush off very early to avoid being scolded at work.
He was still not used to this new life. He really needed to adjust as this was the new him. He was now a rich man.
Yesterday, he had just a few hundred dollars in his account but today, he was a millionaire. This was indeed a miracle, it was those kinds of things that are seen only in the movies. However, it was happening to him and he could not just shake it off his head.
'Wow.' He thought.
He could not wait to see the look on Emily's face, as well as her father and Duncan.
In less than an hour, Zachary was standing before The Influitive Oil and gas company. He had refused to go with the driver provided for him, but rather went in a cab still wanting to keep it simple.
He also wore a simple outfit. A black trousers and a sky blue shirt and a shoe that cost a few hundred dollars.
Approaching the gates, Zachary was blocked by the security. He was asked what he wanted but could not really say anything so they told him to leave.
Zachary stood outside the gates for a while before he bought out his phone and placed a call through to his grandfather.
"Good morning Sir." Zachary greeted his grandfather.
"Grandpa." Kelvin Corrected from the other end of the line.
"Good morning Grandpa." Kelvin corrected himself. It was one of the things he had to get used to.
Kelvin was of course his grandfather.
"I'm here at the Influitive Oil and gas but the security won't let me in."
Kelvin asked him to give the phone to one of the securities and after a few conversations, the gates were made wide open and Zachary entered.
A lot of workers were looking at him strangely.
As the elevator doors parted, Zachary beheld a familiar figure stepping out.
It was Emily.
He knew for sure that Emily worked in the company but didn't really expect to see her today.
She was the personal assistant to the finance manager.
Zachary scanned her with his eyes and finally settled at her breast pocket.
It had a tag with her name. 'Emily MacDonalds.'
She looked exquisitely stunning in her brown pants suit.
Staring at Zachary with so much scorn and disdain. Emily let out a smirk.
"Zach? What are you doing here?"
Zachary just stared and smiled. He was in his grandfather's company and a mere employee was asking a dumb question.
"Let me guess, you got a job here as a cleaner. Yeah…. That is it. You must be a cleaner.
"Wait! If you are a cleaner, it means you are most fortunate because someone like you is not allowed to stand before the gates of Influitive Oil and gas not to talk of entering the premises. How did you even get past the security?" Emily further humiliated Zachary.
"Well, Miss Emily. If you must know, I'm the new owner of this company and you better watch your back." Zachary pursed his mouth in a self satisfied smirk.
Calling Security on the CEOEmily laughed him to scorn. He was basically blabbing. There was no way Zachary that she knew would own a company such as this.Even though the company belonged to his grandfather, Zachary was not sure what was in Kelvin's mind. He was yet to find out what Kelvin would introduce him as before his staff. He only claimed to be the owner of the company just to get Emily to talk. And of course, it worked. Zachary was already a hundred million dollars rich. Something he was sure the general manager, who happened to be Emily's father, was not worth."You're so delusional Zach. I think you've gone insane and no mad person is allowed in this Vicinity." Emily snapped at him while bringing out her cellphone."I'm calling the security to throw you out immediately."Zachary beckoned on her to go ahead. Seeing the boldness he exhibited, Emily was somewhat confused. This was not the Zachary she knew. Firstly, he claimed to own this company and now he told her to go ahe
Keep your guards up.The hall was thrown into Chaos as the noise came up again. Surprise and confusion were all plastered on their faces. John got hold of his daughter just in time as she staggered on her feet. Her heartbeat rose above normal. Because there was confusion in the air, people did not really notice Emily who almost fell to the ground. From where he was standing, John stared at Zachary in bewilderment. Although he dressed simple, he looked different.Zachary did not really notice the other employees. As he scanned through the crowd, his sight caught Emily and her father. He smiled as they avoided his gaze."Well, this young man here is my grandson and you don't need to know why he does not bear the surname Paddington." Kelvin's voice interrupted them."So from now onward, I'm officially stepping down as CEO. I would let your new CEO address you now."Zachary felt chill run through his spine. How would he address these people? He had never been in a position of power befor
How did you get this card?Zachary's heart skipped. He left the organization after informing Maraya. Why would his grandfather say a thing like that? The surgery was successful before he left the hospital yesterday and the doctor said he would be fine. And what is it that he wants to tell him?Zachary's mind was restless as a lot of thoughts kept running through it.He knew he should have gone back to be with his Grandpa. Although Kelvin had assigned some people to make sure Nathan was properly cared for, he still should not have left his father entirely to the care of strangers. If it weren't for Grandpa Nathan, he would have been dead a long time ago. Zachary arrived at the ward to find his father sitting up. He turned and smiled faintly at him.Even though he looked weak, he did not appeal to him as someone who was dying. A nurse was attending to him when Zachary entered. In a few minutes time, she was through and exited the ward giving privacy to Nathan and his grandson."My Bil
I'm in love with you Zach.Stone waited for him to explain further before taking action."I've just been insulted by this waiter and the manager."Stone's face suddenly darkened on hearing what Zachary just said.Zachary left Stone to sort things out as he headed for the car."Well, I'm sorry to say this. You are both fired. You just insulted the owner of this bar. Next time, be more careful with your choice of words." Stone told the manager and the waiter at everyone's dismay.Shocked, they immediately fell to their knees to plead."Sir, please pardon us. It won't happen again. Please beg the young master on our behalf." They pleaded but it fell on deaf ears."It's too late now." Leaving the duo still on their knees pleading, Stone joined Zachary in the car and it Zoomed off immediately.Zachary had just been informed that the bar belonged to his grandfather and those two had the temerity to insult him. They were more unfortunate that he was not in a good mood.It was 7pm in the ev
Taken aback, Zachary stared at her confusedly. Did he hear that right? Is this a prank?Mirabel must definitely be bluffing. She saw his puzzled look and nodded in acknowledgement.Scanning his environment, Zachary realized that they were standing by the roadside with passersby throwing glances at them. Feeling uncomfortable, Zachary made to leave but Mirabel held him by the arm."Please, just hear me out." She pleaded. Taking the chance, Mirabel indirectly asked him out."Zach, you know I'm not Emily. The least you can do for me now is listen to all I have to say."Running her hands through her black long hair, Mirabel let out a Sigh."Since you don't want to go back to the restaurant, can we talk in my car?" She said, pointing a white Volvo car parked at the restaurant garage. "Or would you prefer we go to someplace cozy?"Zachary fell silent like he was contemplating if he should accept her invitation or not. Throwing glances at her pleading face.'What does she really hope to achi
Zachary paused in his steps as soon as Mirabel's question came forth. Smiling inwardly, he turned and replied to her."I'm the same old Zach. Now, if you would excuse me I'd like to take my leave. And I would advise you to end that love brewing in you. It would only come to naught. I would never be with anyone who is a friend of Emily."Exiting the place almost in a haste, Zachary did not give her any more chances to speak further.Staring at Zachary's retreating figure, Mirabel let out a smug smile. She was determined like never before to conquer his love, and it was a feat she must achieve. With Zachary's car already out of sight, Mirabel took out her cellphone and glanced at it quickly.Shit! It's 8pm already and her parents would be worried sick that she isn't back. She was yet to reach home since the close of work. This was not usually her route from work but she just decided to drive through the path and she was happy she did. Bumping into Zachary and professing the love she h
At the CEO's office, Zachary was reviewing some documents when Maraya knocked on the door."Come in." He responded, still engrossed in his work. He had come in late to the office because of his health. Even though the doctor instructed him to have a good rest, he still insisted on coming to work. Moreover, he was already better and had nothing to do at home.Staying at that huge house alone was so boring.Tilting his head up, Zachary's gaze met with Maraya's smiling face."Good morning Sir." She greeted, placing some files on his table. Zachary hesitated before replying to her."Good morning Miss Maraya." Maraya was about to read out his schedule for the day when he interrupted her."Maraya? Can you skip the 'Sir' title? Just call me Zachary. There's no need for the formalities."There's every need Sir." Maraya said which made Zachary raise an eyebrow at her. He wanted to say something but she immediately continued with what she was saying."Provided we are still in the office envir
Emily hurriedly left the company as soon as it was the close of work. As the last words Zachary said to her kept repeating in her head, she felt so agitated.'Just know that the next time this happens, you will be fired.'The next time what happens exactly? What does he even mean by that? The worst was that he did not state her offense. He just asked her to leave his office afterwards. As far as she could remember, she hadn't done anything that would warrant being fired. Unless it was for what happened years ago.Sitting at the bar counter, Emily was sipping her hot mulled cider. It has been one of her worst days at work. The fear of losing her job was something she was dreading so much. Influitive oil and gas was the biggest company and losing her job was equal to demotion. What company would pay her as much as Influitive pays her?Restless, She suddenly packed her hair into a messy bun as she anticipated the arrival of Duncan. She had called him on her way because she needed his com
