Episode 44 The Revelation

James took a deep breath, his heart pounding in his chest. He had kept this secret buried deep within him for so long, never daring to share it with anyone. But now, as he looked into Ruth's eyes, he knew he couldn't keep it hidden any longer. He had to tell her about his dark childhood past.

"What I'm about to tell you, Anna," James began, his voice trembling slightly, "I have never told anyone else about this. It's something that has haunted me for years."

Ruth's eyes widened with concern, her hand reaching out to gently touch James's arm. "You don't have to tell me if you're not ready, James," she said softly. "But if it's something that's been weighing on you, I'm here to listen."

James nodded, grateful for Ruth's understanding. He took a moment to gather his thoughts before continuing.

"I was born in South Africa," James began, his voice barely above a whisper. "My father's name was Donord , so am I but I changed my name to James, my mother's name was Ireen. I was the only child in the family, but there was never any peace in our house. My parents fought constantly, and I was caught in the middle of their battles."

He paused, his mind drifting back to that fateful night. "When I was twelve years old, we moved back to Zambia, but we stayed in hiding. Nobody knew that we were back in the country. It was around the time of my thirteenth birthday when everything changed."

James's voice cracked with emotion as he continued. "On the night of my birthday, I heard my parents fighting again. It was late, around 11 at night. They fought for what seemed like hours, and I could do nothing but listen from my room. Finally, around midnight, they stopped. I thought maybe they had resolved their issues, but I couldn't have been more wrong."

Tears welled up in James's eyes as he recalled the events of that night. "In the morning, my mother didn't come to my room to call me for breakfast or take me to school. I was confused and worried, so I decided to go outside by myself. But the doors were locked, and no matter how much I called for my mother, there was no answer."

He took a shaky breath, his voice barely audible. "I was trapped in my own room. Food was slid under the door, and it felt like I was in prison. I stayed there for a week, crying and feeling utterly alone."

James's voice trembled as he continued. "When the door was finally opened, it wasn't my mother who entered. It was a group of doctors and nurses. They took me outside, dressed in a hospital gown, and everyone looked at me as if I was crazy."

Ruth's eyes filled with tears as she listened, her heart breaking for the young James who had endured such pain. She reached out and gently squeezed his hand, offering him comfort.

"My father was there too," James whispered, his voice filled with bitterness. "He looked at me as if I was a prey, and he was the hunter ready to strike at any moment. People tried to comfort me, but I had no idea what was going on. Then, I realized the truth. My mother was dead, and my father had manipulated everyone into thinking I was mentally unstable."

James's voice grew stronger, fueled by anger and determination. "I was thirteen years old, old enough to understand what had happened. My father had killed my mother, and I knew I had to find a way to escape and seek justice. I found money in my father's bedroom, stole it, and ran away to a town called Mpulungu, vowing to avenge my mother's death."

Chapter 2: The Search

Years had passed since James had run away from home, seeking justice for his mother's murder. He had become a police officer, dedicating his life to fighting crime and protecting others. But deep down, the pain and anger still lingered, driving him to find his father and make him pay for his crimes.

As James shared his story with Ruth, he couldn't help but notice the shock and sadness in her eyes. She had been his friend and colleague for years, but he had never found the courage to confide in her until now.

Ruth wiped away her tears, her voice filled with compassion. "James, I had no idea you had gone through such a traumatic experience," she said softly. "I can't even begin to imagine the pain you must have felt."

James nodded, his gaze fixed on the floor. "It's something I've carried with me for so long, Ruth," he admitted. "But I couldn't keep it hidden any longer. I needed to share it with someone I trust."

Ruth reached out and gently touched James's arm, offering him comfort. "I'm glad you chose to share it with me, James," she said sincerely. "You don't have to face this alone. We're friends, and I'll be here for you every step of the way."

A sense of relief washed over James as he realized he didn't have to carry this burden alone anymore. Ruth's support meant the world to him, and he knew he could trust her with his darkest secrets.

"But what about your father, James?" Ruth asked, her voice filled with concern. "Have you been able to find him all these years?"

James sighed, his eyes filled with a mix of sadness and determination. "No,Anna ," he replied. "Despite all my efforts, I haven't been able to locate him. It's as if he vanished into thin air just like that Assassin. But I won't give up. I won't rest until I find him and bring him to justice."

Ruth nodded, her eyes filled with admiration for James's resilience. "I believe in you, James," she said firmly. "And I'll do whatever I can to help you in your search. Together, we'll find your father and make sure he pays for what he did."

It couldn't bear the thought of James carrying such a heavy burden alone. She knew he was miserable, and she wanted to help even if she had an idea who his father was before telling him she needed someone to help her so she could not tell him.

Jemima decided to take matters into her own hands. She just had to do what the Boss had told her, Alex was the only way to trap Ruth.

As she approached their house, Jemima's heart raced with anticipation. She had no idea what she would find, but she knew she had to try. She knocked on the door, and after a few moments, Ruth opened it. Her eyes were red and puffy, a clear sign of the sadness that had consumed her.

"Jemima, what a surprise," Ruth said, trying to put on a brave face. "Come in."

Jemima stepped inside, her eyes scanning the room for any signs of James. And there he was, sitting on the couch, his face buried in his hands. He looked up when he heard Jemima's voice.

"Hey, James," she said softly, trying to hide her evil intentions "Mind if I join you?"

James nodded, his eyes filled with a mix of sadness and relief. Jemima sat down beside him, her heart breaking at the sight of her friend in such pain.

"James, I've known you for years," Jemima began, her voice gentle. "We've been through so much together mind telling me why you look like this" she pretended not knowing anything

James hesitated for a moment, his gaze fixed on the floor. Then, with a deep sigh, he looked up at Jemima.

"It's nothing we just had a little fight with Ruth now we are fine" he lied and smiled.

"Love my goodness that's why am still single" she said smiling, "can I take you guys for a drink?" She asked, both Ruth and James thought it was a good idea, to help them get fresh air

"You're right, Jemima," he said, his voice barely a whisper. "I think that will do us good" he said "I just need to take a shower" he continued as he moved towards his room. and Ruth followed him.

Jemima saw this as a perfect opportunity, so She stole Ruth's phone and sent a discreet text, urging Ale to come to town as she had found something interesting they need to do together. after texting she deleted the message and put Ruth's phone in water to avoid being Court and she hide it.

Ruth and James come out prepared so they all get to Jemima's car and off they went. "work done Boss the target is on its was" she texted.

Alex and Benny where busy playing video games ,when Alex received a text, he tried to call Ruth but her phone was out of reach, confused and worried at the same time he kept looking at his phone after texting Ruth back but nothing came.
