Doctor Winston squinted his eyes a little while staring at some scripts in his hand. He flipped a page and studied the other page. He sucked in air through his mouth as he dropped the paper on a table and took off his reading glasses. "Tsk tsk tsk..." "Is there a problem doctor?" Ivan asked as he crossed one arm below his chest and placed the other hand on his chin."I won't lie... I'm a bit confused myself." Doctor Winston explained."Why?" China asked.Doctor Winston turned to face both of them. "As for me, I am receiving the same treatment as every other MV3 virus patient and they all went blind eventually but I can still see."As for China, her sight went and returned, which means or hopefully it means that our test is moving in the positive direction." "Wait wait wait," Ivan interrupted them. "Moving in the positive direction?" "That means that it might actually be going well." China interpreted."No I know that, like I am just asking if he is sure of what he is saying." Ivan
Mia's eyes grew wider as she heard the words coming out of Berlin's mouth. Did he just propose to her?"Wait what?" She asked as she sprung up."Mia I want you to marry me, this is not a joke or anything, I swear." Berlin assured her.He also sat up in bed and faced her properly. "But... But... Aren't you like still keeping the promise you made with your wife?" She questioned confusedly. "Well... Since the day I fell in love with you, I had been thinking of spending the rest of my life with you and when I saw you, I knew you were the one. "I told myself that I would have no choice than to break the promise I made to my deceased wife. My life has been very lonely since the day she left me but when I met you, you brought a spark that was all so new to me."It felt like I had never experienced love before with the way I experienced it with you and I just want to be with you for the rest of my life. "Every single morning that I wake up, I want your face to be the one I see and every s
"Apparently, Mr Andrews decided to search for you through the police force. He reported a child missing, telling them everything about you when you were little and how you suddenly disappeared after the death of your patents."He said he already made the arrangement to adopt you after the death of your patents and he even provided all the adoption papers from over twenty two years ago."You were only eight months old then. He said after he did all the needful, you suddenly went missing and he had been trying to find you ever since." Alfred walked back and forth in Ivan's hospital room as he explained everything to him.Ivan took a deep breath as he stared at the floor. His mind was lost amidst the confusing puzzle."But... But why did this officer, uh..." "Officer Redd." "Yeah! Officer Redd, why did officer Redd call you to tell you about this? Does he know that I am the heir to Wayne?" Ivan asked."Officer Redd is a very cautious man and he always tells me things going on at the s
Jennie looked at her colleagues with fear and confusion in her eyes. Her lips suddenly began to tremble as she attempted to speak. "You think... You are saying that..." She stuttered. "We --we don't know for sure so we are not saying that you have it. Everyone at the hospital has entered panic mode because of the sudden outburst of the virus and we need everyone present to help treat our patients." One of her colleagues explained to her."I don't have any virus, you could have just said you needed help at the hospital and I would have rushed over." Jennie said as she wiped off the drop of warm tear that escaped her eyes and rolled down her face. "No, Jennie, we need to test you first." "No! I said I don't have that deadly virus! I am positive that I don't have such a virus! What makes you come up with such speculations?! Huh?! Because I came down with a simple cold huh? I--" Jennie winced from the pain of a needle piercing through her skin. "What... What did you..." She looked b
On the first day of June, there was going to be a presentation where the doctors and every other medical practitioner would come together and share their thoughts on the MV3 virus and if there was any chance for a cure. Doctor Winston couldn't hide it, he was a bit nervous. Talking to thousands of people about what he found out from his deadly test and study. But if there was one thing that made him feel more confident about what he had China had planned, it was the fact that his thesis healed not just him but two more patients and they were both sure it would do great with others. The way China put her words down was in a way that could convince people in an instant but a few doctors still refused to believe her. "Who are you to be telling us this? Huh?" One of them sneered."MV3 virus isn't so deadly, as if! It is the third most voracious virus in the entire world! Eating up lives like it's nothing, it's murderous!" Another exclaimed. The whole room snickered in agreement. Even the
"Shall we head on in, Young master?" Alfred questioned.Ivan turned to him with a smile and nodded his head. They continued into the manor but Ivan couldn't help but Ivan couldn't help but to stop by the beautiful flower garden that always did a wonderful job of beautifying the manor and reminding him of his mother. The Wayne residence felt so different and yet very familiar to Ivan, when last had he stepped foot into his very own home?Ever since they left the hospital three days ago, he had spent those three days with his parents, catching up on things he had missed out on like the feeling of enjoying his mother's cooking and spending quality time talking about anything and everything with his father. From the grand decors to the familiar house helpers, the majestic chandeliers that were one of his favorite things in the entire building to the expensive dines that were always available on demand. He heaved a heavy sigh as his eyes took in all the familiarities of the manor. Alfre
"Why does my own school feel so unfamiliar?"There were a lot of things that had changed which fascinated Ivan. As he walked down the used to be familiar path that led to his school, he noticed a few things like some new shops and buildings. He stopped and stared at the building that was once a café that served one of the best coffee. It was now a bookstore and nothing more. He wondered if it was owned by the same person or if a different person entirely had bought the building. He continued down the path and decided to take the usual shorter route he used when he felt like being alone with his thoughts. The place was usually quite dark and silent. The peace and quiet the place provided was never seen in another route. The lights were always flickering or never working at all. As he stepped his feet into the beginning of the route, he couldn't believe what his eyes met with. The once dark and quiet alley was now a small neighborhood. The whole place must have been renovated. Th
The café had a lot of new details to it that brought a sense of unfamiliarity to Ivan. Like the changed set of tables and chairs, the new wallpapers and paints, and the complete change in the alignment of things there. The only thing that made him realize it was still the same café was the familiar faces that took their orders. Tara couldn't look Ivan in the eyes for some reason, she kept staring right past him at the glass and outside at the passerby's that walked past the café. The dark liquid had a mesmerizing aroma that caressed Ivan's nose as he raised the cup to his lips to take a sip. Ivan always liked his coffee dark, not like he didn't enjoy it some other way, he had a strong likeness for every kind of coffee. But his love for tea was incomparable to that of coffee. He took a sip and returned the cup to the table and waited patiently and silently for about five seconds before his patience ran out. "I have been waiting for about five seconds now and I don't really have t
