Seventy-four: A miracle happens

The sound of the dishes and bowls as Ivan arranged them into each other caught her attention. She followed the sound of the noise and turned to face the direction.

Ivan noticed her as she turned and his lips spread into a smile. "Be honest, it wasn't that good."

She smiled, "it wasn't the best thing I have ever had but it also wasn't the worst. To be honest, I don't think I have had broth before or even jell-O."

"Are you joking with me right now?"

"I'm being serious. My parents... My former parents were so obsessed with my health since I happened to fall ill quite often for someone that isn't a sickle cell.

"My former mom would go crazy when she saw me eating something sweet and sugary. She always warned me about cavities and other crazy things that could happen to me if I ate sweets." She explained to him.

"Well I guess I wasn't expecting a different story. I grew up in a home where anything that is consumable is our breakfast, lunch and dinner, be it sweets or just cabbages."
