Chapter 7

The full moon finally came to an end with the infinite growlers' growth towards their main goal, an unknown piece appearing on their chessboard.

Zane had finally healed up, Alex saw this and went up to mark, he glared at him for minutes, finally saying a word, “Mark right?” he asked.

“Yes!” Mark answered nervously, he still couldn't take Alex's scent off, it was just so intoxicating.

“You seem to know a lot about my kind” he said as he stared deep into Mark's eyes.

“I mean no harm” Mark stuttered, “Nothing more than interest, I swear” he said as he staggered backward, losing balance, but he was caught by Alex before he fell. Mark was stunned as Alex's hand wrapped around his waist.

“Want to join the pack?” Alex asked.

“Yeah, I mean I'd if there is a way without getting myself bitten” he said, twitching his mouth.

Alex scoffed, dragging mark up, “You've always being nervous around me, feel free” he whispered softly into his ears.

“You are smart,” Alex said.

“I'm not smart, I just wear glasses” he muttered, adjusting his glasses.

Welcome.

Thrain, Ethan, Fiona and… mark, you are all welcome to the pack. Your journey as a werewolf and human has just begun. Evolve and show us what you are capable of.

The whole pack howled in chorus to celebrate the new werewolves joining the pack.

“And here is a warning for you three, not all werewolves belong to this pack… they howl with wicked thoughts,” Alex said.

Mark checked his cellphone, he had twenty missed calls, all from his mother. Hell's location would change to his butt.

“Damn! I'm in trouble, I was supposed to be home for family dinner,” he said.

“Who eats dinner after midnight?” Ethan said.

“Who goes on picnic at night in the woods?” Mark replied.

Thrain smirked as the entire pack laughed, Mark too off as he scoffed at Ethan, “Let's meet in school guys”.

The entire pack dispersed into the blindness of the night.

Finally, Mark got home, but he was skeptical about opening the front door until he heard a tiny voice in the sitting room.

“It's been a long time I set my eyes on my cute boy, Mark” the tiny voice spouted, leaving mark who was outside to have goose bumps.

“Is she around already? I don't even know what she looks like” Mark thought as he slowly pushed the door open.

A creaking sound was heard as the entire family all stared towards the door, only to see mark drenched with dew.

Mark's aunt excused herself from the dinning table, running towards mark. She lifted him as if he were nothing but a mere quill.

“Where the fuck did she get her strength from?” Mark thought as a wide fake smile show on his cute face.

“Mark! My little cousin had grown big and talk, all the girls would be flooding around you… right?” she said.

Mark replied with a broken smile as he grunted in pain, she lifted him by his waist so tight, he could barely feel it again.

“Monstrous freak! Just drop me,” he thought.

“Oh!” she realized Mark, feeling uncomfortable with the way she lifted him, she carefully dropped him.

They both walked towards the dinner table as she kept on smiling to mark, who was frantically thinking of a suitable excuse for his already fuming mother.

She glared at him in a hasty manner, “Where in the hell have you been, Mark?”.

“Mum, mum…”

“You don't glare at my cousin like that,” Lisa said, cutting her in-between as she rubbed cheeks with Mark.

Mark knew the only way out was playing along with his aunt Lisa, and he spared no efforts doing that.

Mr. Harrison, who was engrossed in his newspaper, peeped from the edge of the newspaper, and continued reading.

Ultimately, the dinner was over, the family got well with their long – seen aunt, only mark was creeped out. It was night's out in the Harrison house.

Mark staggered out of his room, with his hands rubbing against his nose, as he headed towards the refrigerator to drink water, on walking back to his room, he saw a room slightly opened reflecting light down the hallway.

He rubbed his eyes, “Isn't that the room dad doesn't want anyone of us to enter? Why is it opened?” he whispered to himself.

He tiptoed down to the entrance, peeping through the creaks left open, only to see his dad and aunt, LISA, discussing. He felt uninterested as he was about to leave, but what he heard next made him wait to eavesdrop.

“Sunny dale… the once silent sunny dale would no longer be peaceful” he said.

“Harrison, I think it's time to contact the exterminator, I know you've been holding back all this while” she said.

“The werewolves are becoming active in sunny dale, it's time to dust out my seraph blade” he said with a neutral face.

“On my way here, I was attacked by a werewolf,” Lisa said, “Unfortunately, he was saved by his alpha m” she grits her teeth

Mark gasped for breath after listening to the breathtaking conversation. He gulped down as he was left in a suspended animation.

Immediately, he left for his room, making sure not to alert them. He laid on his bed suspended In a confused state, “What should I do now?” he thought.

The werewolves he met not more than an hour ago, they don't look bad, they exuded an aura aiming for a far ahead accomplishment.

On the other hand, My family are werewolves hunters, now that got more than complicated.

“What if I got myself bitten by Alex back there, then I'd probably be hunted by my family?” Mark's eye almost popped out merely thinking about it.

The black cat crawled into Mark's room, laid beside him. Fortunately, Mark felt not to pursue it, instead he embraced the warmth of it's fur and fell asleep.

The cat's eyes glowed gold.
