Chapter one hundred and thirty seven: apology
It was early that morning when the guards brought Felix peacefully to the community of runners gathered outside to hear the words of the king. The guards led him up to the platform where he met Caleb who was waiting for the king’s arrival.

As soon as Caleb set his eyes on Felix his countenance turned pale, Felix could tell that he was sorry for keeping him locked up inside the prison for that long.

“I am sorry,” Caleb apologized.

“There is no need for that. Actually I am glad you did, but…” Felix answered and before he could complete his statement they were interrupted by the murmuring crowd and that caused Caleb to take his eyes off him as he turned to see the king walk out of the palace, making his way forward.

Felix could see through the hearts of the people that they were as baffled at the swift recovery of the king as much as he was but the murmuring soon ceased when the king stopped before them.
