Chapter 9(The mysterious spoon and the letter)

The king had arrived as predicted. The news of the great wizard had gotten to his ears, where he was soughting out for a cure.

The joy in his eyes knew no bound as he found out his wife wasn't in a critical situation any longer.

He was grateful to this great wizard and rewarded him greatly. For his commander, he kept his eyes on the great wizard because he still doubts that this man might run away.

Rumors had also spread that the great wizard was genuine, and had risen the unconscious queen.

That rumor made Brian popular overnights that he was referred to as god and was respected even more than the king and top rulers.

Fame was becoming his, and most people around were bringing up their troubles for him to solve.

To him, he haven't solved his lingering problems yet could solve that of other people. This wasn't part of his wish.

Rather than being called his real name, the people preferred calling him "the great wizard"

However, his main purpose here was something else, and he was yet to discover it.

Though, he wasn't a fan of wizards or socerery, he had to practice on how to control his marvelous powers.

They had him dressed up like a magician, and he hated it, mostly the magic top hat. He dumped it and never made use of it.

It got to his notice that the people of this strange land had been told by a sorcerer that a man from the future would be found in the vast field of sunflower.

Behold, there he was as told. Furthermore, he was going to liberate the people with his magical powers and tackle their most dreaded enemies who no one has seen.

For Brian, he was liking the fact that people praised him, however, it was never his wish to become a wizard and so sought for a way to find the spoon.

He couldn't afford to see his wife with someone else. Perhaps, that must be the reason she left. She was a materialistic person and might have chosen to move on with someone else.

To worsen it, as he had presumed, she doesn't recognize him. Although, she hadn't fully recovered and so was always in her harem. She was taken care of by her maids, and even the king couldn't see her yet.

The one person he desired to see was his daughter Giselle. He had only heard her giggles in this palace, but haven't seen her.

His plans were to find that silver spoon and vanish at the spot with his second wish. Then he would make his third wish would be to wealthy. That way, he could unite with his child and perhaps his wife.

The words of the old woman had began to reoccur in his head. Now he believed what she says.

If only he had kept heed to what the old woman poured out. Perhaps, he would have gotten a better understanding.

All his memory showed him was that she had said he had three wishes to make with this silver spoon.

It had been two days he spent in this strange world, and he had to find the silver spoon at all cost.

That silver spoon was his liberation from this strange land called nethalville. He wasn't going to hand it over to that gothic voice that sent shadows to monitor him at night.

Darkness had begun to crawl in slowly and this was the time most people see to carry out vices.

Brian sneaked out of the room, he had plans of going over to the field. Earlier, he had indirectly asked a servant where he could locate the field of sunflower, and he was told.

The desperate young man took along the magic hat he hated; just to cover his face from recognition by passer bys.

He began his journey towards the field of sunflowers. Brian had to race just to get there. He arrived there like a flash thanks to his new discovery, which was his magical powers.

This man wished he had such powers in his world. He would have used it to reverse time. If he had powers, countless people would have been dealt with.

Brian searched through the dark with his eyes, which had a trace of tapetum lucidum that enable him to see at night.

He would say, his search was in vain as there was no trace of a silver spoon. How was he ever going to find that spoon? The spoon was abandoned in his bedroom, but he wasn't at home.

Somehow, the spoon needed to have been teleported with him. He intended to give up searching when he found something glowing beneath the loamy sand.

Oh! his liberation was here, his legs drew closer to where this item grew closer to.

In a hast, he dug out what glittered, and it happens to be the sliver spoon. Wow, this was it, his chance to go home and abandon these people.

He cleaned the spoon which had gotten dirty and his eyes caught sight of the number “28” on the spoon.

Initial, it was 30 but since he had spent two days here, it switched to 28. It could tell that the spoon was counting the days he was to spend in this place.

His eyes went further to gaze at the bowl of the spoon. A write-up was written on it.

It wrote;

“Solve the puzzle, the letter would explain more”

“The letter?” Brian muttered with a curious gaze at the spoon. Immediately he read the message the bowl of this spoon passed across, the writing vanished except the number that was still at the handle.

He suddenly sneezed because of the pollen from the sunflowers. Some of it got into his nose. He sneezed the second time while scrutinizing the spoon in his hand, pondering over where he find the letter.

Fireflies began to swam around him and stardusts sprinkled from the sky. Enchanting music began to play. Brian wouldn't have noticed it if he haven't sneezed for the second time.

Possibly, his sneezing must have attracted the fireflies. They shone beautifully as the night stars that he got mesmerized by it.

It was magical, like the ones he watched in movies, and it was happening before him. The flowers shone brightly too and an amusing smile escape his lips.

These fireflies were suddenly forming a shape. His nervous eyes watch vividly over what was going on.

The shape they created was a rectangle, and they looked like a seam of threads. To him, he would say this was embroidery designs by thousands of fireflies.

Soon, they formed a letter, and it dropped at his feet. Without wasting time, he picked it up to read, but then the sunflowers began to grow tall like giants before his eyes.

The stardusts faded and the fireflies scattered. They were suddenly giving a warning sign to Brian, but he still didn't understand.

The fireflies began to create an arrow, they made gibberish words but were beckoning on him to follow them.

He massaged his ears trying to understand what they were saying and why the flowers were growing so tall that it was like though they were trapping him.

A firefly pulled out from it league and wavered around Brian's ear, disturbing him to run and follow them.

This firefly succeeded in making Brian move, and the confused man began to race after the swam of fireflies who directed him out of this place.

The flowers were paving way for him and when he looked back, he realizes that these flowers closed up at every path he passed through.

They were protecting him from something, but he couldn't point out what exactly because no one was chasing him.

These flowers were so tall that he was unable to see the sky, but only the blooming petals of these sunflowers.

The fireflies swam hastily in the air that he had to keep up to their pace. His feet were unexpectedly fast, just like the fireflies.

He still had the letter in his hand, and so he tugged it in his breast pocket, just not misplace it during his race. He also hid the silver spoon.

Brian kept looking back as the flowers locked up, but then something lured his attention, he began to hear screeching sounds becoming louder.

Now he knew what they were protecting him from. It was the shadows that had been tailing on him.

Probably, these shadows had figured out that he found the silver spoon and desired to take it away from him.

However, these creatures of nature felt the presence of the shadows and needed to protect Brian.

The flowers were obstructing them from getting to him, and the fireflies were directing him away from them.

He became emotional and fell gratitude towards these things of nature; however, he shouldn't be grateful just yet because these fireflies brought him to a cliff!
