Homecoming

After this weird night surprisingly we woke up safely, no harm was done to us, but the most surprising thing was that I was able to sleep even though I know someone that could hurt us was near us

Both of us were awakened by a familiar voice

"Wake up sweeties, a friend for you came to pick you up"

The woman said, and as soon as she said that Nicolas came through the farm's door

"I'm surprised you managed to survive until here but I shouldn't expect low about the golden boy and our dream girl!"

Nicolas said with a smile on his face, dream girl huh? Do both of us have stupid nicknames now?

"It was about time you found us sir but I'm glad you did nonetheless!"

Nicole said as she swiftly got up

"No problem girl! But before we go I have to take care of a small problem..."

Nicolas said, he then with a quick move turned around and punched the woman sending her meters away, Nicole and I quickly exited the farm to see better

"You see kids this is a casual case of summoning back draw, I call this that but it's not anything magical after people summon something they get the urge to do it again but this time on themselves and what do we get? A woman like her"

Nicolas said as she pointed at the now gloomy woman

"Don't tell me she..."

Nicole said but before she could finish talking Nicolas spoke up

"... She sacrificed her husband and monster blood for power and now she can use monster powers without having her body being posses"

Nicolas said as his hands became tiger claws, the woman then launched herself at Nicolas but he was easily able to slice her face with his claws and dodge her attack at the same time

"But even after doing that she is not a match for me or Nicole because she doesn't know how to use her powers"

He continued, the woman charged at him once again but this time Nicolas wasn't nice enough to leave her off with a single wound, Nicolas used his knees to hit her head and then quickly slashed her throat with his claws, the woman quickly died, blood spread everywhere

"Shall we go now?"

Nicolas asked as his hand transformed back into a human hand

Nicole nodded and started walking towards him, I quickly followed and the three of us left behind this mess of a farm, I didn't know what will happen to this farm and its animals but I know that things won't be solved easily

We all got into a black car and Nicolas started driving us somewhere

"How does it feel now that you know you survived one of the most deadly worlds?"

Nicolas asked both of us, he must be talking about the Sanguine beach

"We couldn't have done it without this genius's plan, plus why didn't you tell us that there was a probability to run into a portal?"

Nicole asked, she seemed suspicious of him

"Do you think I know everything? I'm nothing more than a mutated human like you"

Nicolas said, a long silence then followed, our car passed multiple farms until we finally reached a city, as me and Nicole where staring at the city Nicolas asked us something

"You are quite cold Nicole? Aren't you sad that your partner died?"

"I couldn't care less for this fucker! All he did was hit on me and act tough but when the time for him to act like a man arrived he ran away leaving us to die, so yeah I don't feel sad would you, after all that?"

Nicole asked Nicolas with confidence as he stared at Nicolas through the middle mirror of the car

Nicolas didn't say anything, he simply laughed it off and kept driving into the city, I didn't know where we were going but I didn't ask either because he would probably answer with something along the lines of, I'm lucky that they didn't execute me or something

"Stop daydreaming Johan, we arrived at our stop "

Nicolas said as he parked the car in front of a fast food restaurant, I didn't even notice we stopped, that's weird...

"They now got double beef burgers? That's new!"

Nicole said as she looked at the menu

"Leave the menu down for a moment and listen to what I have to say, we three are about to take part in one of our most important and risky missions so far..."

Nicolas said as he looked at both of us with a serious look

"Ambrose suggested one plan, now that we are in America and she figured that a good plan was to infiltrate the enemies from inside, meaning that we three could possibly enlist to our enemy foundation, this plan can only work if you two also agree and are ready to throw your lives away for our nations' future"

Nicolas continued

"I don't have anything to lose so why not? My mother hates me and my father is dead, I don't have anyone to leave behind"

Nicole said in her casual tone, it honestly sounded kind of sad to hear her talk like that

"I don't have a choice anyway so why not? But how can we even do that? I mean they are not going to open their doors and welcome us with open arms!"

"Of course, it won't be easy! But thanks to some of my sources and by sources, I mean a spy, the New World Foundation is looking for new members to join and they are hinting it with posters that only a person who knows about the other worlds could understand, for example, look at the poster across the street"

Nicole and I looked at the poster and it said something interesting

Nicolas said angrily

<People might make fun of you but we hear them and see them too, other worlds or not, they EXIST! Meet us at the white building on XXX street for more information>

"This place is not far from here so how about a walk around there?"

Nicolas asked us and he started eating the food that was just delivered to us, Nicole was eating too

"Why not? I mean what could possibly go wrong?"

...

Let's say everything didn't go right, once we ate our food we went to the location and after almost 10 minutes of negotiating with a guard outside of the building we were finally able to enter, only to find that this was the wrong building, apparently, the sign we saw was old and they had moved buildings, this time it was 5 minutes away from the fast food restaurant by car

But when we returned to our car on foot it was damaged so we once again had to walk to the building, Nicolas looked furious the entire time

But even if the situation was triggering it reminded me how peaceful and happy moments like these can be compared to dealing with other world monsters

"Holy shit we finally found the right building"

Nicole said ironically as we took the elevator to the floor where the recruiting was happening

When we reached the floor we were surprisingly all alone so we comfortably walked into an office door that this floor had, it was also the only thing on this floor

Once we open the door a woman sitting at a desk was staring at us

"Hello to everyone, I assume you know why you are here"

The man said as he looked at us from bottom to top, he probably was confused about why all of us were wearing black suits

"We are here to join the new world foundation, we three have somewhat knowledge on the job and we also possess powers"

Nicolas told her, the woman then wrote down something and asked us for our names

Once we gave it to her she wrote them down

"Come again in a week for the qualification test we have"

The woman said, we then left the chilly room and walked back to our damaged car, the damage wasn't so critical, we only had an engine problem that was easily fixed after the help of a fast food worker

"Stay in the car, I have to make an important call"

Nicolas told us as we sat in the back seat

"What do you think the test is going to be about?"

I asked Nicole

"Probably test our powers and our loyalty towards the foundation, I don't think I will have any problem with this kind of test because, to be honest, I don't really care where I end up, NWF OWF, both of them don't mean anything to me so I only take the side of those that will treat me right"

Nicole told me with a somewhat cold look

What would I do? Betray the old world foundation and go to the enemy's side? Or stay with them and fight on? I honestly don't know yet...

"Okay we are now heading to the airport"

Nicolas said as he entered the car

"Why what happened?"

I asked confused

"We are going back to London idiot, we are not going to stay here for an entire week"

Nicolas said as he started driving

Everything after this point was simple and quick, we arrived at the airport and took a quick flight back to London, the flight passed very quickly for me and probably for the others too

I have never been on a plane but if I had to describe my experience with one word then the word would probably be majestic...

"Don't forget to see Ambrose in the morning, she requested that you go to see her as soon as you get here"

Nicolas told me as he dropped me off in front of the church-like building

I silently entered and walked back to my room, I still had the key for it in my pocket, I'm honestly surprised that I haven't lost it yet

I walked the long corridor that divided the rooms from the main building, walking this path again made me pay attention to the pictures on the wall

The first picture was of a lady cleaning a house but this lady had no eyes or mouth only ears, its name was "The lamp" it was quite disturbing...

The next picture was a picture of the moon with a man standing on it with the simple name "The man on the moon", this man's details weren't painted clearly so I couldn't tell who it is but it looked quite intimidating...

And the third picture next to a room was a painting of Jesus, but it was weird, he didn't have long hair or a light around him, he had short hair and completely white eyes and other than him nothing but angels were around him, the only reason I could tell it was Jesus was because it had a description, and it was the only picture that had one. The picture also had the name of the artist written on the description

The name of the painting was "mirror" and the artist was "Ambrose", I think she is the same Ambrose I know, I will have to ask her later about this picture...

After looking at the creepy drawing I entered my room, took off my coat and my shoes, and was on my way to bed but before I could lie down I saw a person outside the window, Ambrose told me to not open the window if I saw someone so I won't, not that I would have opened it if she didn't tell me...

The man I saw hastily run up to the window and slammed his body on it but surprisingly it didn't break

"Open up quick, they will not let me off easy this time, so please open the window, I will give you anything, money, my house, my daughter, everything is yours if you please open your window!"

The man screamed as he slammed the window with his hands multiple times

I was frozen, I don't know what to do, should I open it? He seems very scared but Ambrose told me not to

Suddenly the man was dragged away by a black rope, the man tried to grab the ground but it was useless the black rope dragged him into the darkness of the night

I slowly climbed onto my bed closed the lights and tried to sleep, I tried counting sheep but that didn't work, I tried thinking of nice thoughts before sleeping but that didn't work either, I couldn't sleep after what I saw, I tried so much and I almost slept but a bright light interrupted my attempt at sleeping

Before I knew it morning came, there is no use sleeping now so might as well eat breakfast, I have to meet Ambrose later so at least let's meet her with a full stomach...
