Sanguine Beach

When the whale emerged from the water Jack started manically running away from it, he seemed like a lost child there, I wanted to run too but my legs were rooted, I couldn't move nor hear, and my thoughts are hard to process

"Snap out of it Johan!"

Nicole said as she was shaking my body

"What do we do?"

I asked confused, Nicole gave a look at the whale that was flying directly in our direction and then looked back at me

"No matter what happens, I know we can survive this, just follow me and I will protect you"

Nicole said as she grabbed my hand, she then started running across the beach but not leaving it, the whale seemed to not come at us but at Jack, who had already left the sandy part of the beach

The whale started falling and before I knew it the whale had crushed Jack like a human stepping over an ant, no it seemed so natural but yet so wrong

After crushing Jack the whale turned its huge eyes at us and started to fly toward us

"Don't look back, Johan! Just run!"

Nicole said as she stopped running, I didn't listen to her, I looked back and saw her charging another sphere with her power but this time it looked more powerful

"How about this you stupid whale"

Nicole said as she launched her attack at the whale, the explosion caused by the attack barely hurt the whale

"Nicole run! There is no way we are beating this thing"

I screamed at her but she didn't listen to me, she simply tried to attack again but this time she created two different spheres on both of her hands, her sleeves were destroyed by the pressure the attacks built, Nicole then with a loud scream launched the two attacks that combined while they were launched into a big sword-shaped attack, the attacker stabbed the whale and exploded like a real bomb, my ears started ringing because of how loud it was

After the attack, the whale lost its course and fell on the beach sliding all the way to me, when the whale reached me I started running back to Nicole

"Run while it is down!"

I yelled as I ran past Nicole, but she didn't look good, so I turned around and tried to carry her on my back

"You did good Nicole! We just need to get the hell out of here and then we are alright"

As I carried her I felt like the whale was preparing something, when I turned around I saw the whale launching a tornado-like attack at us, I quickly used all of my strength to jump on the side of the attack, Nicole and I landed on the soft and cold sand barely avoiding the attack

The ground was destroyed so I'm sure if this attack had landed then we would have died, and I'm not exaggerating on this, for some reason the whale could do that

"We have to move quickly! Nicole, please try to walk"

I said while I tried to make her stand up, the whale was coming closer and closer, I could almost feel its breath, the ground was vibrating and this vibration started chasing me but before the whale could crush us, a loud growl could have been heard, this growl made the whole beach shake and drove the whale away, I didn't understand why but when I looked at the opposite of the beach I saw a massive figure standing up and staring at us with its big orange glowing eyes, it was almost as tall as the Big Ben

I wasted no time, I carried Nicole along the beach for multiple minutes but I stopped when I reached a certain point, the beach stopped, only rocks stacked on top of each other were there, I placed Nicole on the sand and climbed the rocks and all I could see was the sea, the infinite sea that stretched where my eyes couldn't reach

I then sat beside Nicole and waited for her to wake up, and after some minutes she did

"Are we still trapped?"

She asked

"Sadly yes, I don't know how to get out of this place so this might as well be our grave"

"Don't be pessimistic! The sanguine beach has nothing on us!"

She said with a smile

"Does this place have a name?"

I asked confused

"Yeah! Many places have names, well mostly the dangerous or the valuable worlds have names but this one is considered a dangerous world so they named it the sanguine beach, because it brings a feeling of hope but also has the color of blood, well not exactly red but you can tell right?"

She said as she stood up

"Do you think they will come to search for us?"

"Probably not, so I suggest you get up and help me find a crack in this world so we can escape"

She said as she walked away from the beach

"DON'T GO THERE!"

I screamed, Nicole seemed scared

"What is it?"

she asked as she quickly prepared an attack

"While I was carrying you here a creature from there growled at the whale and scared it, if it scared the whale then I can't imagine what it can do to us!"

Nicole laughed, but not out of happiness but despair

"Well, we better off labeled as dead!"

She said as she sat on one of the stacked rocks

"Do you know what is it?"

"Of course I know, this being is an illuminate, these kind of beings are about level 6-A level threat but thankfully it is contained here"

She told me

"Level 6-A? What does that mean exactly?"

"This is a continent-level threat, meaning it can destroy a continent if untamed, these monsters are mostly assigned to specific mana zones so they can watch over a world, and those who assign these monsters are non-other from Illuminati themselves"

Everything made sense but I didn't understand the thing about levels so I asked her and she proceeded to explain to me about this way to scale the strength of a monster

" Level 11 is the Lower-Dimensional, beings such ants are considered level 11, then we have

Level 10, is also called the basic human level, from kids to athletes, this level contains monsters that people like that easily can defeat

Level 9 is the superhuman level, a monster at this level can destroy small buildings

Level 8 in this level monsters can destroy blocks or even small cities

Level 7 monsters are strong enough to destroy cities and up to a mountain

Level 6, from this level on everything, is scary, so on this level monsters can destroy small islands to even a whole continent

Level 5 moves to a planetary stage, a monster can destroy moons, planets, you name it!

Level 4 or Stellar level are the monsters that can destroy any size star or even a solar system

Level 3 from here on no human can do anything about them, they can destroy galaxies and the higher level even the universe"

She told me and then suddenly stopped

"Are we supposed to fight things such as these?"

I asked, Nicole, nodded and asked me a question

"Do you believe in the multiverses theory?"

I didn't know what this was but I pretended I knew

"Alright because from Level 2 things are reaching multiverse status, monster ranked that high can even destroy multiverses from small to large

We then move to Level 1, a monster like that can destroy complex multiverses and can reach a hyperverse or even an outerverse

level of destruction and finally Level 0, the boundless, those beings are infinite! There is nothing they can't do, our God is considered to be a level 0 monster but nobody knows if this level exists but all we can do is theorize"

She said, the whale is probably a level 7 since it can easily destroy a city if left unchecked, and if that is the case then we are done for, I don't have powers, and Nicole's power isn't effective

"What did you used to do when you weren't involved in this dangerous life?"

Nicole suddenly asked me

"I went to school and played football, what about you?"

Nicole looked at me with a hint of doubt

"Every subject involved with the Old world foundation is either a criminal or an unlucky guy, and judging from your nickname, "The Lucky boy" you don't happen to be an unlucky individual"

Nicole told me, lucky boy, huh? I wonder who thought this name

"You got me! I used to sell knives and drugs to sustain my family, how about you? Were you a criminal too?"

"Yep! I killed both my father and older brother so I and my mom could escape the pressure of living under two drunk and abusive members of our family, but mother wasn't very happy about this"

She said with a cold voice

"Can I ask how you did it?"

She giggled

"You don't ask things like that but sure! Before having their drink I placed rat poison on their drink and as they chocked I set them both on fire burning my whole house in the process"

Her story seemed harsh, It's only logical for someone like that to have such a calm reaction toward something this scary

"Do you think we can escape from here?"

I asked

"If this monster you saw wasn't there we could maybe run away from the sea but I doubt we can, so you can enjoy this slow death coming for us"

Nicole said with a calm voice, I can't be calm! I have to act no matter what! I will not wait here with crossed arms, an idea then blossomed in my mind

"Nicole I don't plan on dying a boring death so what are you saying? Are you joining me on my suicide mission?"

I asked with a smile

"Sounds better than nothing!"

Nicole said with a smile, she then got up and got ready for my plan

So without a second to waste I quickly ran to the sea screaming and kicking the small waves that repeatedly came, I was trying to provoke the whale and after some time of screaming the first step to my plan worked, the whale came out of the water and I tried moving it closer to the land, the plan was for the whale to follow me and it actually did it, it was suspicious at first but in the end, it followed me mindlessly

I quickly ran towards a suspicious bush, in this bush was hiding Nicole, she was waiting for the second phase of the plan, When the whale came close to us Nicole launched at it a very big attack once again, the attack was a little bigger than last time but did the same damage to it, the whale also reacted the same way as before, it kind of faded, its body stuck the ground and dragged away from the beach

After some time it tried to fly up again, Don't tell me we failed

"Johan it didn't work! Run!"

She said as she dragged me away from the whale

As the whale tried to fly once again something grabbed its tail, something far scarier than it, it was a black creature that resembled a bat but it had sharp horns instead of ears, it also had very long arms, this creature crawled on top of the whale and when it finally crawled to the whale's tummy it started stabbing it and eating eat with intensity

"Get into the water and swim!"

I told Nicole as I jumped inside the warm waters of the beach

"What why?"

She asked

"Most exits in these twisted worlds are fairly obvious but monsters are there to block them, this must be the case for here too! The whale was the defender of the world so we can now leave"

I told her as I stopped swimming, she didn't seem convinced but she still joined me in this crazy attempt to escape

As the two of us swam I felt raindrops, they were even hotter than the water we swam, turns out they weren't even water, it was blood, a blood rain that the black monster that devoured the whale created

The sea slowly turned red and the sun was for some reason setting, these things together made the environment even red

We both looked at the monster as we swam further and further away and after almost eating the whole whale, this black monster quickly turned its head to us and started running toward us

We didn't say a word we just kept on swimming and swimming and swimming and swimming and swimming and swimming and swimming

But the monster reached us, and before it could eat us our hands suddenly touch, and without any explanation, we were outside this world

For some reason we were in the middle of nowhere, we were standing on a bridge that was built on top of a very thing river, and we were surrounded by trees, it appears that we were on earth but we could never be too sure, Nicole started to manically laugh

"Oh man, this sure was a shitty experience!"

She yelled before fading out, I quickly caught her and dragged her body under the bridge, I decided to sleep there, I could afford to roam around this place while I can't see, and Nicole in this kind of state...
