The old man stopped talking for a while, the young boy didn't say anything, and the two of them just sat there. In the pit, the fire danced and popped, glowed, and cracked. The two of them were seated on an aged log that was close enough for warmth but not cooking. The majority of the bustle had diminished to a low drone as the village settled in for the night behind them. The old man's long ponytail was blown off his back by occasional gusts of wind, and the young boy's hair also blew from his shoulders. They looked into the fire together.

“Greer?”

"Yes, Chris, my."

Why is one side of the feather black while the other side is white?

"I'm happy you asked," the elderly person made a sound as if to speak prior to proceeding, "it resembles I said about concordance previously, the Ohweelie of a man.It represents the concordance of the two.Maintaining Ohweelie requires walking the fine line.Greer twisted the feather so that his grandson could see where the edge was.

As you can see, it's not an easy thing to do.Because the edge is so narrow, straying too far to either side can throw one off balance."All one needs to do is recognize the problem and do what needs to be done to get back to the edge," Greer made sure to emphasize, "this is normal."To Ohweelie's.

I will never be out of balance, Greer.Ohweelie will always be me!The boy spoke with pride.

Greer chuckled a little too hard. When his grandfather laughed, the boy's face became darker.Greer quickly found his composure.

"That is very good, Chris," she said."It is the aim of all The People to walk this edge, but it is easier said than done," he said, wiping the smile from his face.Life is an adventure filled with difficulties.A man's place in life can be determined by how he treats himself and others along the way.Edge of the feather."

"Look at this gorgeous land!was heard saying, "was said to be the first words ever spoken here," among the hundreds of people walking. So, why are they the last thoughts I have before leaving this location? There was no response to the question, which was posed to no one.

Kaya Tasso Flistedt's mouth was left with a bitter taste from it.She looked back at the one and only place she had ever called home—the one she was leaving now.She was not leaving by choice; she was leaving with a large group of "The People."A lack of food led to the group's departure, and a portion of the clan would have to attempt to cross the Domea river in search of better land.

She thought that was hundreds of miles away, and the Domea river had never been crossed.Ever.KT was terrified and confused by these thoughts.

The morning perfectly reflected the beginning of spring as the large group heads east.As usual, the sky was beginning to appear gray as the sun rose in the east. The sky was the bluest she had ever seen as the sun rose. She thought that challenging times made things more vivid. The burden of the spring dew was too much, and the air could no longer hold the moisture. The air was crisp and smelled like spring.Everybody's feet were wet.The majority of people didn't look back, and many of them were confused. However, because of their friendships and alliances, they had no choice but to leave Ondu with this group.

Normally, when the council had to make a big decision, like moving a lot of people out of their homes, everyone had to agree. The council decided in favor of sending the group east, but not unanimously; Some members were reluctant to support Rognvald's strategy. The council began to plan and prepare for the exodus from Ondu after the minority gave in.When it came to selecting the specialists who would be let go, Rognvald was very involved.

Any enormous gathering that would go a long way from home will expect experts to accompany them.Although there will undoubtedly be injuries along the way, healers came in first, followed by midwives.A couple of the voyagers were at that point with kid and making arrangements for another settlement required youngsters and the abilities to carry them into the world.Additionally, other practical skills will be required.

When the new settlement is established, Smithys will be in high demand; they will produce the tools and replace any damaged ones. For long-term success, you'll also need to be good at hunting, make and fix clothes, cook, make Sheppard's for the livestock, and the list goes on.Individuals that had these abilities were not continuously able to leave, some had to leave, and Rognvald saw to them by and by.

The bleak condition of Ondu's farmland led the group to inform the People that they were leaving to find a new location to establish a settlement. For the past two years, Ondu has been devastated; the winters have been harsh, and the village farmlands have been flooded twice during the spring thaw.In some places, the topsoil was washed clean down to the clay, but it took a lot of work to get it ready for planting in other places.Although they were certain that their crops would not be sufficient to feed everyone if the population remained at its current levels, no one knew whether this cycle would continue.

Although it was not the only factor in this exodus from Ondu, being able to provide for everyone was one of the primary reasons. There was deception from all sides, descent among a select few, and within the council's ranks. The majority of the core of The People's belief system had been neglected, and in some cases had been forgotten, as the council disagreed with each other about their hopes and aspirations for the future. Some of the people had lost their faith in God and the old ways. The people had become divided as a result of this disconnect, which was resulting in conflict among some of them.

The day the group split up, the village as a whole was overcome with emotions; the collective pain was a visceral one;despite the fact that the majority of people did not comprehend what they were feeling.Nobody anticipated this when Harden spoke to The People at the feast celebration two weeks ago.Harden struggled to keep his composure during his speech because he was still reeling from the loss of his wife.

Not only Kaya Tasso was perplexed by the beautiful morning in their home country and the agony of the largest group of "The People" to ever leave Ondu, but so was everyone else.It is true that some people have left to pursue their fortunes; those who did so belonged to the rash and would never be placated by village life. They weren't all bad people, but most of them were.

Some of them were just too restless and needed to be more active and free of obligations.None ever came back.

Kaya Tasso was all alone, so she had more concerns.KT still has no idea why she had to leave Ondu, as none of her friends' families were in the group leaving. She feels a light bump on her arm as they pass.

“Pardon.”The tone of the voice was sincere, if subdued and hopeless.

"Go peacefully."KT's immediate response.

KT was Kathryn and Tombold Flistedt's daughter.Pottery was her parents' occupation, which made them wealthy to some but comfortable to others. Her family's pottery was liked by some of "The People," but not all of them. The Flistedts' pottery was not always useful; they would add extra features or make pieces with unusual shapes. While not everyone admired her parents' pottery, they shared a deep love for one another and enjoyed their occupation.

Kaya Tasso, or KT, as she was known by her friends, was not interested in pottery and never felt embarrassed by her parents' actions or work.KT wanted to try new things, learn new things, and do everything she could. She was not ready for daily village life, but she wanted to try everything.KT was seventeen winters old, she could turn into a spouse now in the event that she needed a family, however she doesn't wish to have youngsters yet.Because they can be returned in a short amount of time, KT loved other people's children.

KT turned away from her previous residence and prepared herself for this journey as she continued walking east with the group. She did not have faith in the leaders, particularly Rognvald Aa Scandiniv and no other Aan Plec. She needed to go.Whatever Andy Aa Scandiniv did, it was a part of the reason Kaya had to leave.KT had no knowledge of the council or its members; she was aware of who they were but had no interest in what they did.She froze in shock when Rognvald Aa Scandiniv told her to pack for a long journey when he came to her house. He told her she had to leave her home, both shocked by his orders and by the council member standing in her doorway.

The previous year's extremely wet weather resulted in the loss of crops, and the village was aware that a harsh winter lay ahead. Each winter, when nothing grew and hunting was limited, the village usually had enough food to last through the winter. When the weather got warmer in the spring, a feast was held. The stores for the previous winter were severely depleted due to the harsh weather of the past two years and low crop yields. The long winter followed, which was colder than usual.

The people suffered from hunger, cold, and a general sense of uncertainty.KT took care of Kathryn and Tombold during the long winter, but the illness was too bad because of the cold. The council quarantined KT and her parents in her home.If the Flistedt's illness spread, the council, fueled by an engaged Rognvald, feared a plague.Kaya did her best to care for her parents when she could because she wasn't as sick as her parents. She could only cry until spring and keep the fireplace burning after her parents died.

All through the winter harden used the ginseng that Westin prepared for him, with scarce and tepid results. Westin told harden that he could not rely on taking something all the time, he also reminded Harden of the stress factor that alone can cause many physical manifestations. To his credit, Harden was trying to follow Davyn’s prescriptions but could never quite get over the hump. He begged Westin for the yohimbine bark, Westin made excuses for as long as he could but eventually relented. He relented on one condition, that Harden commit to the exercises without any resistance. Normally they were free to roam and came back to The People willingly, now they would most likely bolt at the first chance, a few had and the horses that were left had to work harder. It was miserable work but they endured, they pulled the future of the Land towards a place where a city will be built, it won’t be the one in Rognvald’s dreams, it will be tainted and immoral. Kaya’s hair had grown back over the last three years of travel, it reached down to the middle of her back now, she kept it braided in one long braid while traveling. The braid reminded her of her mother, of the time they shared together, just the two of them. It wasn’t that they had something that was better than anyone else’s mother daughter relationship, it was simply there personal relationship that Kaya remembered. When her father was hard at work, making one of his fanciful pieces of pottery, or out making deliveries, they would be together. They lived in the back of the pottery shop that had been in Tombold’s family for generations, it was one of the more permanent looking structures in Ondu, having poles that had been sunk into the ground over two hundred years ago. The poles in the center of the shop were so round that Kaya couldn’t reach all the way around them until she was twelve. The shop always had a fire going, whether in the kiln or not, the friendly smell of wood burni
