6. The Self Proclaimed Leaders

" Why are you lying to me?! are you saying you fight those creatuers with your normal strength?" The guy asked.

" Yeah, is there a problem with that? If you do not believe me then ask him."Chris pointed out to Luke, and also giving him an eye signal.

Immediately Luke understand and turned to the guy, who was walking around them and said, " yeah, yeah, that's true just his normal strength nothing else." He nodded his head severally while talking.

The guy that was talking to them was at the same time keeping his cool to impress the other. So he didn't want to start anything weird. He then smiled and said, " I see! So that is what happened?" Chris and Luke just nodded their head as an answer, while he continued, " You said, your name is Chris, huh? I know somebody name Chris that look just like you, and had the same name as you but you are more taller and muscular than him. Are you anyway related to the Maxwell's?"

Chris was surprised, he try to identify the face of the guy, if it was someone he knew, but he couldn't, because the guy and the others were putting on some kind of nose masks on. He wanted to deny it, but some thoughts just went into is memory, and he said in his mind, ' no way, my parents are dead, there is no way I will be denying their name now!'

" Yeah, my family name is Maxwell. That is Christopher Maxwell!" He replied with confidence.

The guy walk several step backwards, while the other stood up in surprise. It was as if they had seen a lost ghost.

" ...No...no, that can't be true are you telling me you are Christopher Maxwell, but how are you?" He said with a shock on his face.

" Yeah, I am. What's the big deal, why are you all freaking out as if you seen a ghost. Apart from her I mean? He replied while pointing out to the girl that took them in who was acting different from the rest.

" The Christopher Maxwell I know was not taller than this. Then tell me how come did you grow like this, how!" The guy said while measuring from the ground to the length of height he was explaining Chris height to be.

Chris quickly realized that his body was enhanced and is his feature too. He also realize that he can't go back on his word he said of not having any power. Then he said, " ooh, yeah about that. After the breakdown phenomenon, I woke up and found my self like this."

" Ooh my jeez, so the outcome gave people power and then gave you height. Like that is shit." He and the other laughed out heavily at the same time pulling down the nose masks.

Chris could quickly recognize them. Them after they pull down the nose masks. The guy that was walking around them ever since, his name is Henry Lebron, a tall plane guy who is around the age of 17. He attends the same school as Chris. He was in class 1A, a senior schooler while Chris was in class 1A, a junior schooler. They both had an clash at school back then. Henry and the others that calls themselves leaders now, were bullies at that time, they were bullying the weaker student in the school at that time, then Chris saw what they were doing and confronted them, but the thought he was just a weak kid like the other, but instead he took them down and embarrassed them in front of the entire school.

Henry's face became suddenly serious while advancing is steps to Chris." Now, since the chaos gave you grouth and all, did you think you can still take us on. Huh, grown up brat?" He pushed Chris with his super strength, as Chris flew from the ground, using his back to hit the wall of the cave and fell on the ground.

Henry then advance towards Chris and squat close to where Chris was laying then he said," these is just a glance of my true power. Now you can go make your self comfortable in my domain.

Chris quickly stood up and smiled a very bitter smile looking at all of them. Suddenly he started walking away through the part they walk by when coming in. Immediately Luke also walk after him.

As soon as Chris and Luke walk out of the inner cave, Henry and the other began to argue among them selves,

" You know it is a mistake letting him leave!" One of the guy named josh Lincoln, who was as the same age and height as Henry, pointed out.

" And why do you think so, are you saying my actions are wrong?" Henry replied after.

" No, it's just that. He would be a treat to us sooner or later. Everything we have accomplished in this few days may just be ruined by him." Josh said.

" What good is a boy that is as powerless as him do to us, we are untouchable, we have power over all things here." Henry said proudly.

They all felt convince by Henry speed. As they began to laugh. Meanwhile Chris and Luke had joined the rest of the group from earlier. They all sat on the floor resting their backs on the wall of the cave, they all sat quietly with thought going on in their minds.

" Hey, why did you make me lie in there maybe we could have been treated different if we said the true. Maybe i, because it seem you're already their enemy at school." Luke said.

After a while of sitting still the girl from earlier that saved them, walk to them and said, " hey come with me I have things to show you, and am also here to answer all your questions."

Chris and Luke quickly stood up and follow her as they walk through the Survivors camp.

" We don't even know you name after all you did for us." Luke looked at her pretty face while talking.

" My name is Sarah Blenner sorry for the late introduction." She smiled forcefully.

Chris looked at her and saw that she doesn't look like some one who is into guy like Henry and said," so tell me how come did you end up with does dude, I don't think you fit in right in the picture."

" Is that what you should really be asking right now? You know they are more important things to ask, don't you." Sarah replied.

" I just want to know that's all, but if you are not telling me it's still ok. Unfortunately for me, I really don't see anything around that you want to show us." Chris said

" I just had no choice. They gave me an option so as a survivor I need to do everything that would be good for me." She took a deep breath and continued, " there is nothing here to be sincere, I just want to speek to you guys,and this is the only way I can have a conversation without them suspecting that we are conspiring against them."

Chris and Luke quickly understand and said at the same time, " that means they don't trust you!"

"So how do things work here, like I mean food and water those stuff?" Luke asked.

" About that we hunt for food , and for water I am the source of water. I create a big ice then they melt it into water, although the ice take time to melt, because the ice I create are not that normal, they are very strong as rock only I can manipulate than at will and they taste gross, but that is all we have. It is the only reason am among the leaders, but to me it's just a self proclaimed bullshit." She replied after.

"Ooh! I see. is there anybody here who know what really happened to the world?" Chris asked

" No, am not sure, the other are as just confused as us. You guys should just find somewhere to relax first." She replied.

Chris previous dull gaze, flared up after hearing Sarah words. He move away from them looking for somewhere he could be alone.

As for Chris he has no intention of socializing, all he want was a quiet place alone where he can concentrate. He as so many motives in his mind. So he just walked to the end part of the cave were there is nobody and lean his back to one of the pillar while sitting on the floor.

After a while of relaxing. Suddenly some group of people approaching him and insisted to join him. They were the Survivors he help earlier today.

" Please guys, not to be rude, but I really need some space at this moment please." Chris said with a pale face. " Incase you need anything, you can meet that kind lady that let us into the cave.

They all understand, they knew that the weight they place on Chris shoulder was too much for him. Immediately they turn to the direction that they came from and started walking. They wanted to thank him but they noticed that it was not the right time, so they just went away.
