The drive towards Reed's home seemed like an easy one as the car rolled its wheels down the busy road until they suddenly encountered a stuck in the midst of cars.
Reed, who seemed to be meditating with his eyes closed, suddenly snapped them open only to see what was going on because of the distraction he had encountered. “What’s going on? Is this how it has always been?” Reed asked, coldly as he watched the other cars horn so loudly, also oblivious of what was going on. “It's probably those street launders” The driver said in frustration. Wanting to know what suddenly caused the traffic, his subconscious made way to the very front only for him to see that the first car was delayed because they were currently being robbed and a desperate cry for help. Whosoever wanted to escape would be gunned down. Soon enough, he heard a loud gunshot that scared the driver into trembling. “I… was mistaken… it's those robbers” Anger surged within him because Reed knew they were only wasting his time. Having spent time in prison and knowing it was his first time out after three years, he could not afford to spend any more time in the car, temporarily imprisoned again. Then, he turned to leave when the driver exclaimed in fear, wondering what to do at that instant. “You can't afford to leave. They will kill you! These people are brutal” In the past, whenever something like this occured, he would have pestered the driver to find another route to drive back because he could not afford to be killed judging by how timid he was. Now, he owed no one any explanation as to what he wanted to do. With a cold scoff, he had the door opened and walked to the front, ignoring the desperate plea from the other owners of the car who already got a hint of what was going on to get back inside in order for his life to be saved. “Is this all you have, huh?” The robbers asked furiously, too occupied not to see him as they used their raffles to hit a woman who was on her knees as tears streamed down her face with her hands joined together as if she was begging them. His irritation increased when he saw that the young woman's bodyguard had been gunned down. Now, he realized the reason for the gunshot earlier. Judging from her clothes and the type of car she drove, she didn't seem ordinary. On a closer look, Reed finally discovered her identity. She was the newly appointed CEO of E&G he had always seen in the prison room, the city's leading manufacturing wine company. Joanna Smith. “I promise you that's all I have. Please let me go. My uncle needs…” “Shut the crap. How can you, a young rich lady of this city we see every single day on TV, flaunting your wealth claim to have just ten thousand bucks? Huh?” “I'm telling you I didn't come with my purse. I was in a rush. My uncle …” She said in a panic while the robber interrupted, “Then, you'll die!” He thundered and pointed the gun at her, wanting to pull the trigger. “No, please!” Joana screamed out as her face held horror, not wanting to die like her useless bodyguard who could not even protect her and continued as she hurriedly brought out something from her phone pad. “Fine, I have my business card. You can come to my office. I'll attend to you and give you money. Please, let us go. I beg you!” Only then did one of them laugh before the rest followed suit. Reed assumed that was the leader of the gang because he dressed more rough and different than the rest. He crossed his arms with a sneer because it was too hard to believe this silly action was the reason innocent citizens were held up in a temporary placement. “So you can hand us over to the cops? Come on, we aren't fools. Don't you think so?” He asked with his eyes bulging from their sockets and leaned towards the woman who moved backwards while still on her knees with fear laced on her face. “No, I promise, I won't do that. You have my word!” She said and turned to the car, silently hoping that nothing would go wrong. “Please hang in there” She muttered in despair. However, that moment, the leader's gaze dropped as he noticed her slightly opened cleavage. Then, he giggled as the thought of how beautiful she would look down there. His eyes held passion as he looked at the woman who still had a pleading look on her face. “How about you let the three of us have a taste of you? Only then will we let you go. You have it all- the fame, beauty, money. Sex shouldn't mean anything to you, right?” Another said while she shook her head as her eyes widened in fear. “Please don't hurt me!” She said, shivering. “Well, if you can't be useful for us in cash, you can be useful in kind. Hold her!” The leader said immediately while Joanna screamed out in pain, wriggling in their arms. However, they were too strong for her because it did not take a minute before they overpowered her. Just when Reed seemed like he could not take the drama that seemed to become boring anymore, his voice thundered, “What the hell is going on here?”
