CHAPTER 07:

Mr. Carl told him he wouldn't force him to accept the truth about himself but rather would love him to take his time and find out from his so-called father, about the pendant in his neck. Then a cab came and found him. They both exchange contact, and He tells him Goodbye before departing.

Ethan looks at the pendant on his neck, then he remembers what his father gave him on his 20th birthday. Saying this will bring you to reality as you grow. There are many challenges but you will always find your place. It's a good memory".

He has asked him what he's talking about but he told him he was just trying to encourage him to take a life head-on as he's now a man. And maybe later he could tell him what the background he's talking about means.

Maybe this is the time he needs answers to these questions. He wished his father was alright to explain all this.

Ethan walked into the ward and sat down next to Mr. Allen's sickbed. He felt terrible, still hoping for the best from the DNA kit test he had done earlier. He didn't find anything amusing here, so when his phone rang out loudly, he quickly grabbed it.

"Hello, is this Mr. Ethan Allen?" a woman asked over the phone.

"Yes, how can I help you?" Ethan replied instantly.

"I worked at the register," the woman said. "Did Mrs. Elena threaten you? Because the divorce seemed fast, and you haven't been here."

"Come on, stop beating around the bush. Just give me the news. I don't need a divorce certificate if that's what you're trying to convey," Ethan replied.

"I may be able to help you," the lady chimed in. "I could recommend a therapist. She might be able to help you talk things out."

"I don't need your advice, young lady. Just do what she told you to do. I'm done with her, with her miserable life," Ethan said.

Ethan shut his phone off and slumped down. He felt like a piece of trash. He looked at his phone, and a message popped up from Mr. Carl.

Carl Lyall: We need to talk about DNA. It's out.

He sighed and stared blankly into space. After a brief moment, he gave in and replied.

Ethan: Yeah, tomorrow at the cocktail restaurant by 6 pm

Eight minutes after the reply, another message came in.

Carl Lyall: Come on, meet us by 10 a.m. tomorrow at Bigtale Corporation.

Without argument, Ethan put his phone down and held Mr. Allen's hand. A deep, hollow stare revealed the inner pain that Mr. Allen was feeling.

"You should get well so you can tell me everything you did," Ethan whimpered, with tears streaming down his eyes.

Ethan left the hospital in a taxi and headed to Mr. Allen's apartment downtown. He entered the apartment, which was still the same. No design exploration, nothing had changed. Ethan looked at the old pictures of him and Mr. Allen on the wall.

He walked into Mr. Allen's room and found the wallpaper lying on the cupboard. He picked it up and began cleaning when he found an envelope in the cupboard. Ethan picked up the envelope and opened it, bringing the letter back to life.

"Mr. Allen, thank you for taking care of my son. I'll pay you so much. I saw your email, but I can't reply to anyone at the moment. I think this letter will help you. I am excited you have kept him safe all these years. But Reply to my email if you find this.

Mr. Joel Mason, my secretary will reach out soon."

Ethan wiped his face and turned on the laptop. He logged in and unlocked the password. Ethan opened the email.

The first email was seven years ago. That's when he turned twenty right.

AllenBig02: Your son is alive and healthy. It's me, Allen, I took him away and babysat him all these years. He sees Mr like his father, but I can't deny him of his true identity for long. I escaped him from the fire that day, it was a very hard time for the family. But I had to keep him safe because I think your enemies had eyes on him. He's grown up now, and a replica of yourself. I can't watch the son of a wealthy man suffer.

The reply took three days, and if he calculated well, his father had started to get the symptoms of God's illness but hadn't been registered in any hospital.

Joel Manson registered under a company email: Allen, I don't know if you are telling the truth, but after all these years I have been able to gather information that my son didn't die in the fire, I thought he got burnt in the fire with his nanny, but I was wrong. Please I will be excited if I have my son back. If you meant what you said just dropped your location, I will return to the country soon. I need to see my son soon.

That was the message, but his father never replied to it.

Ethan couldn't believe he had been living under a shadow for so many years.

Ethan's hands shook as he read through the emails. He couldn't believe that he had been kept in the dark for so long. All these years, he had been living in darkness. Mr. Allen

Ethan felt angry and hurt. He had so many questions, and he didn't know who to turn to.

He waited for the next day, his anger palpable, as he couldn't get to sleep. And that following Morning he dress up ready to confront Mr. Carl

As he entered the restaurant, he scanned the room to find Mr Carl. Ethan spotted him sitting in the far corner with two other men. Ethan walked towards them, his heart pounding in his chest.

"Mr Carl, we need to talk," Ethan said, trying to keep his voice steady.

"Sit down, Ethan," Gray replied, gesturing towards an empty chair. "These are my colleagues, John and Mark."

Ethan nodded and sat down. He felt the weight of the envelope in his pocket, and he knew that he had to tell Carl the truth.

"The DNA test results are out," Carl said, breaking the silence.

"I know," Ethan replied, taking a deep breath. "But there's something I need to tell you first."

He pulled out the envelope and handed it to Carl. Carl opened it and read the letter. His face turned pale as he read through the emails on Ethan's laptop.

"Sadly, you find out this way," Carl said, shaking his head.

"You know about this also?" he asked, and he nodded positively.

"We came since we couldn't get any email from your father again. We tried checking for you but it was all in vain. Not until I saw you In the cab shop recently. I had to inform your father that I found you. And I feel sorry that Allen who had raised you all these years of lying sick in the hospital "

"Who was I supposed to believe, I want to know the entire truth about what happened exactly. I need full details, don't you get it "He got the table angrily.

Carl told him to calm down as he began.

"When you were young, there was a party in your father's house, and suddenly fire started from nowhere. Your  nanny died in this accident making the family conclude you died alone. It was awful for the family, but they just had to beat it like that" Ethan was focused ready to listen to the entire story behind this.

"So a few years ago, your father told me he got an email from one of his old workers in the family, he was the family cleaner then. He claimed he had you but we didn't believe it as we thought it was trying to blackmail us. And also tell me to do the research. Then when I did my research I realised you weren't in the fire with your nanny. The autopsy report confirmed it. We tried reaching out but it was futile. We sent a letter to get to you but we couldn't, and we just thought it was mere assumptions. So we went out of the country again. But we control ours here without problems. Your father knew many were after him that's why he chose to find solace outside the country. And we are finally back. The culprit who sent them to start the fire was sent to jail, with all his accomplices. " He explained, and Ethan couldn't believe all this happened.

" And now that you are back you should take your responsibility as the heir. Your sisters can't be allowed to be the heir because they are ladies”
