THE SON THEY NEVER WANTED

CHAPTER 7

Darius stared at the President of Finance in shock and awe as he sat before him casually and couldn't stop staring at Chris that left.

"I'm sorry for his clumsiness, those poor rats can be so insulting at times," Darius said and laughed expecting him to join him but he maintained a stoic face as he stared at him over the rim of his glass.

He had immediately ordered a Shirley Temple wine for him and wondered if it was too cheap.

He oversees the country's Finances and is the current Prime minister of Business affairs in Mexico.

"What the hell is going on here, dear Lord; I hope it's a business proposal." Darius prayed silently in his heart as he smiled at Thompson Brook.

" Can I spend the night here?"

Thompson blurted out and Darius spat out his drink in shock

"What?" He gasped.

"I'm afraid I might miss my schedule, your house is quite fancy and classy. I'll pay if you don't mind please."

He said with so much class and elegance that Darius nodded repeatedly. "Of course, you're welcome anytime, please. I'm honored you consider here a home. Thank you, President." Darius smiled excitedly and made sure to keep him comfortable.

Thompson was a man of few words as he retired to the luxurious guest room and waited for Chris.

He came for one thing.

****

"Excuse me?" Chris gasped, staring at the Rich man whose skin even looked expensive. What the hell does he mean by that, why would someone as classy as himself look for him?

"Chris, I know it won't make sense to you but you need to listen." He said and Chris nodded.

"I'm your father!" He blurted out and Chris didn't make a move or react to his word. He knew the man was just saying that to make a mockery of his existence.

"I…I've looked everywhere for you."

"You're drunk sir, you can talk to me tomorrow when you're sober!"

Chris blurted out and Thompson sighed. It was going to be harder than he thought and staying for a night won't be able to convince him.

"I know what I'm saying, I'm your father! You need to take over the company before a huge crisis hits me like a volcano please!"

Thomson pleaded but Chris fueled up and shook his head.

"You think this is funny right? Stopping me in the middle of the night and teasing me. I know I'm poor but what the fuck is this. Are you making fun of my father because he's not wearing a Tux and suit?"

Chris lashed out at him angrily and Thompson wasn't even fazed. He felt so hurt at what his son had to pass through in his absence.

"Please, hear me out for once!"

He begged.

"No! Listen to me and fuck off from wherever you're coming from. I have my father and If you think that this little stunt would haunt me then it's a lie, you gave me a booster to treat trash like you with hot brutality. I might not be there yet, but I'll surely get there."

Chris slammed.

"I can help you with your plan, I know who killed your mother; My wife."

He blurted out Chris's eyes widened in shock.

"I have a lot to say but staying here to say it is so risky. I'm not asking you to forgive me or accept me. I just want you to get a life. Reach out to me, I will be leaving tomorrow morning."

Thompson said again and dropped his card on the table before turning back to his room.

"He knows my mother?"

Chris asked himself in shock as he took the card beside him and gasped at the name.

No Freaking way!

"What is he doing here?" Chris almost screamed out in shock as Thompson Brook's name appeared on the Card.

"He must have mistook me for his son, poor man"

He sighed and tucked it in his pockets, he would tell him that he's not his son and he found the wrong person.

With that he went back to his room without noticing Calista, eavesdropping at the back of the door.

The moment he entered his sadness grew as he saw his wife seated in the bed with her arms crossed.

"Why did you do it, Chris?" She stood up the moment she saw him but Chris was not having her rants as he went to take a shower but she screamed.

"I'm talking to you!"

"What do you want Mia? I'm drained already, don't add to it."

"Why did you yell at Dad!" She slammed heavily. "You keep biting the finger that feeds you and go ahead to steal such an amount of money to bail yourself out. You even lied, why can't you beg Chris? Beg!! It's that simple to save yourself from the impending doom you've created for yourself."

Chris groaned.

"I never stole any money, secondly my Life was already a doom the day I stepped my feet in this hell hole called a house."

A slap was connected to his cheeks and he chuckled. He still loves her, there's no way he would retaliate no matter what.

"My father's house is not a hell hole, don't use your poverty-stricken self to call my Dad names, he accepted you for who you are and made you lord over his possession."

"Shut the fuck up, Mia! I'm the goat on the high table. I'm being dragged against my own will and you call that Lord? I thought you loved me, but you were only after who could be the wealthy man for you. I regret meeting you Mia, at least I would have gotten peace in my poor Life!"

Chris lamented bitterly from his heart and Mia scoffed.

"You should be lucky I dragged you here, no woman would ever look at you twice with your status. As of tomorrow henceforth, you're now the house help. My father has stripped you off the position as the acting Ceo!"

She slammed and Chris gasped.
