I've been waiting for you

THE SON THEY NEVER WANTED

CHAPTER 6

****

Chris' ears blazed in hot fury as he couldn't believe what Darius just uttered before him right now. He stared at the cheque payment in his hands as he chuckled bitterly.

"What did..you…just say?" He picked on his words and Darius sighed.

"You were never going to come out of that cell, why would I sit and do nothing when you made a promise?"

"BY BURNING THEIR HOUSE?"

Chris erupted in fury, forgetting his existence but the anger that was boiling in his entire system.

"I only burnt a useless thatched house, now that you've paid for the damages done to my company, they are now free from my mansion."

Darius dismissed him and Chis gritted his teeth in anger. This is the highest of what he could tolerate, it was too much for him to handle as his heart burned in pain. He badly wanted to smash his head to the wall right now and make him feel every inch of pain he has caused him.

"How did you get this money?" He asked casually.

"Nothing!!" Chris yelled at him and pointed fingers at him for the first time, ignoring his statement."Nothing should happen to my Dad and brother!"

He slammed heavily.

"How dare you, Chris? what sort of Insolence did you just spew out from your mouth?" Darius yelled but Chris dashed out and collided with a tall-looking Man that was about to enter Inside and they both landed heavily on the floor which spiked Chris' anger.

His cologne filled the air and Chris knew immediately that he was from a very rich background.

He should be in his forties or fifties judging from his face and stature.

"Ouch! I'm so sorry, are you okay?" The Man stood up and tried to touch Chris but he yanked his hands off rudely.

"Stop pretending as if you care, you rich psychos would always trample on the weak!"

Chris was extremely Infuriated as he dusted himself and walked out despite Darius yelling out his name.

He had no money to enter a cab so he ran instead, with different thoughts swirling in his head about his family's safety.

"How would they survive in the streets? It's not as if they have anyone to stay with." He muttered breathlessly as he increased his pace, His father doesn't even have a cell phone he would have called at least to know something before he goes crazy.

He reached the streets of their home and it was already obvious that his home was already burnt from the black smoke that evaporated up in the air but what caught his attention the most was the crowd gathered in a corner.

"What's happening?" Chris asked a random stranger who shook his head in pity.

"The poor boy was hit over while trying to defend his father."

He frowned in confusion

"He already knew how miserable he is, why would he try to stop those escorts?" Another slammed and Chris tried to get closer.

"His house was going to get burnt, what did you expect? That's the only thing they have!"

Chris gasped and pushed through the crowds at once, squeezing himself in to get to the middle when his feet dropped to the ground in shock.

His lips vibrated in pain and anger as she stared at his father, sprawled on his brother's bloody body, and asked the crowd for help to take him to the hospital.

It was a horrible sight for Chris as he hurriedly carried his brother in his arms and rushed out to the hospital, pushing through the crowds.

"What happened?" He asked as soon as his brother was wheeled into the emergency room. They didn't ask Chris for any deposit as he was known to be the standing CEO of Darius group.

"Maybe they haven't heard about the real me yet." He shrugged cause he knew that they would have asked for something.

"They came into the house all of a sudden and started throwing our little item, threatening to burn everything when your brother came out to defend it and he was carried and thrown outside to the streets."

He sniffed bitterly and continued.

" I thought it was just outside but I went out to the street and found your brother lying in his pool of blood, he was hit by a car."

Chris swallowed hard.

Anger , pain, bitterness, fury, and revenge were all that clouded his entire being.

He wouldn't stand by and watch Darius eat his cake and have it even if it meant death.

He had been stupid all along thinking that he held the key to his life just because he had nothing, but he would prove otherwise.

"What do we do? We have nothing now! I can't believe the kind of life I'm living. They killed your mum and now it's my son." His father lamented painfully but Chris assured his father that he would fix something. He didn't know the strangers that sent that money to him and he badly regretted paying into Darius' company's account, and still went ahead to cause a mess in his life.

"Please take care of him and warn him to stay clear from people like that. They are highly dangerous" He pleaded and made sure to clear the hospital bills, he had no means of accommodation, and paying for a hotel would be so expensive in their Vicinity.

He thought hard and retrieved his phone to call Vincent, asking him to help for a night which he gladly accepted for even more than a night.

Despite that, raw anger was still flowing through Chris's veins as he made his way back to the Darius mansion.

The moment he stepped inside the quiet home, he sighed as he knew everyone would be asleep until the Man he had bumped into walked out from the guest room and smiled at him.

"Who are you?" Chris asked, taking the smile on his face for being mischievous as he spoke the most confusing words to his ears.

"I've been waiting for you, Chris."
