Chapter 6

Tanya was in the sitting room, watching the window in never ending anticipation. Hoping that Mason would come home.

It's been a week since the incident in the hospital and her grand mother was back to full health. But Mason was yet to come back home.

The hospital was when she had seen him last and since then he hasn't returned, his phone was switched off and there was no way of reaching him.

Tanya was getting worried because it was unlike Mason to just disappear with a word. He may not be the greatest husband, but he doesn't just do things like this.

"don't tell me you are still thinking about that man, it's probably best like this. He left so your life can move on positively. "

Tanya's grand mother said since she was also in the room.

"that man saved your life in the hospital MA and he is my husband. " Tanya replied.

"I know, and I am still grateful for him doing so. But even with that, it doesn't make your life any easier if he's around. "

Tanya's grandma, Mrs fei has been staying with Tanya for the past week. So that Tanya could be able to look after her properly.

"it's enough ma, I still don't get why you hate him so much, Is there something I don't know about? " Tanya asked her, already getting irated.

"no no, it's just that he hasn't been treating you well, and I don't like it. And I want you to be happy with someone else, Derrick maybe. "

She replied with a coy smile

" this again ..." Tanya rolled her eyes as she stood up.

"you are not the judge of My happiness, just let me be. "

"and where are you going? " Mrs Fei asked after seeing Tanya get up..

"I am going to the police station "

"to do what? "

"to report that my husband is missing. " Tanya said and then left the house.

"she really should just give up on that young man " Mrs Fei said as she watched Tanya drive off and she sighed.

"I keep trying but nothing is working mother "

Derrick complained as he fell on the couch with a defeated expression.

"relax boy, don't think everything will happen so smoothly. Besides I got you covered don't I? " derrick's mom answered

"I know I know, but I really thought we finally clicked back in the hospital last week, atleast we almost did until that old crone of a doctor ruined everything and then there is Mason ....ughhhhhh" Derrick kept complaining.

His mother laughed at what he said before sitting beside him to stroke his back..

"you should be more weary about Mason"

"oh please, that good for nothing husband of hers, he just got lucky in the hospital that day. " Derrick dismissed Mason as a possible threat.

"oh you're such a little one that knows nothing. " she said sweetly

"tell me what I should do to get Tanya by my side mother, please " he whined and turned to look at her like a little boy

"oh my sweet boy, you will get her. " she took him by his face and sweetly patted his hair and he resigned in her arms.

"first go to this address "

"where?" he asked.

"the note on the table, the address is there. "

Derrick got up and took the note and there was an address on it and he read it out loud

"da-west side, 15 ....."

"yes, go there. You'll find something interest son." she smiled..

"alright mother" he said and then left for the address immediately

It's been some minutes since Tanya left for the police station and Mrs Fei was left alone with her thoughts.

"Fei"

A hoarse cold feminine voice called out. It sounded like a hundred voices were overlapped into one.

Hearing her name and recognising the voice, goosebumps ran through Mrs Fei's body and her body immediately went cold and numb from fear.

The lights in the room started flickering and them immediately went off. the room became cold and choking, with an indistinct Smell hovering around.

"Fei"

The voice called out again and this time Mrs Fei fell on her knees with her head to the ground in the direction of the voice.

"yesss...ss Heiress "

her voice quivered as she shivered and sweat poured down her entire body. .

she didn't once raise her head to look at who was speaking to her since she already knew what it was and it couldnt be described as human.

"I see you survived, perhaps I'll give you another chance. "

The voice said.

Mrs Fei remained rooted on the spot unable to utter a word or even move.

"have you found the young man? "

The voice asked and Mrs Fei shook her head negatively

"Find him and do not fail me again, if not you will not recover this time. "

The voice said finally..

Mrs Fei nodded frantically in fear before voicing "I will not fail you again, never! "

But by then what ever the voice was had already disappeared.

The lights came back on and The air became breathable again.

Mrs Fei raised her head and Looked around but there was no one in the room.

Then she sat and caught her breath.

"lord help me"

Derrick pulled over and stepped out of His car.

"this should be the address "

He said as he looked at the note in his hands having the address.

He looked back at the house in front of him and then his left and right.

"I don't have a good feeling about this place "

Derrick stood in front of a run down apartment, he was in the part of town that was for the run down fellows and he felt very uncomfortable being there.

"Why would mother send me here? Anyway, let's get This over with "

He muttered to himself before moving to the door to knock on it.

The moment he knocked on the door, the door creaked open to his surprise and he just looked into the dark room.

He took out his phone and turned on his torch to see inside the house.

"Hello, is anyone here? I was asked to come here... "

There was no response, rather his voice echoed. He pointed his torch around and he found a big box in front of Him.

He went closer to the box and looked at it carefully and found his family insignia on the box, the insignia was a tree.

"this seems like it belongs to my family, probably why mother sent me here.

"

He struggled to pick up the box and then staggered with it to his car. He out it in his car and then drove off.
