Chapter 3

Doctor Raymond walked into the room with his head held up high. He was a man approaching his sixties with a lot of experience under his belt.

Derick was the first person who came forward to greet him since he had invited him over.

"Doctor Raymond, A pleasure to meet you again. " Derick reached out for a handshake.

"The pleasure is all mine, since you are paying me handsomely."

Doctor Raymond said with a sly smile as he accepted the gesture.

Derick laughed slightly at the joke, since it was at his expense but he wasn't bothered since he was very rich.

Everyone else in the room just watched in awe as the two conversed with one question running through thier minds.

'just how rich and reputable is Derick that he is able to bring one of the world's best doctors to personally come treat the bedridden woman? '.

Mason was also surprised to see doctor Raymond in the flesh but didnt show it. He had always heard of him being one of the best when it comes to medicine.

"So what is the situation that made me cancel my appointment and travel half way the country ?"

The doctor asked, cutting the pleasantries ,wanting to put his work before pleasure , a common medical etiquette.

"oh please this way Doctor, it's an emergency. "

Derick led the doctor to Tanya's grand mother, who laid unconsciousness in bed.

"the doctors here have only managed to put her to sleep but they are unable to do anything else since they do not have the skill to help her out at this point. "

Derick explained the current situation

"Hmmm" the doctor exclaimed as he adjusted his glasses to take a closer look at the bedridden woman.

He raised his right hand to feel her pulse and then nodded as he made his diagnoses.

"what is the problem doc..."

Derick said but was interrupted by the doctor.

"Shhhhhhh, don't interrupt me while I work. "

"I'm sorry doctor. " Derick apologized

Everyone in the room gave the doctor some room so he could work.

Tanya went to a corner to pray for her grand mother.

Derick noticing Tanya's worry approached her and placed his hand on her shoulders to comfort her in a half hug.

Mason watched the doctor closely since he was curious as to how the doctor worked.

His curiosity and fascination over the doctor dropped to one of doubt as he watched the doctor attempt treating the woman.

Doctor Raymond folded his sleeves gently before bringing the woman in a sitting position and then running his fingers across her nape and back.

He searched diligently for her acupuncture points , precisely the part related to her ailment and blood flow.

When he found it he gently punched them with the tip of his fingers skillfully at several intervals before resting the woman back at her laying position.

"Bring her water and food "

The doctor said but everyone was puzzled since she was clearly unconsciousness.

"Hurry it or do you doubt me ?" the doctor barked out when he noticed they all stared at him questionably and immediately the scurried around for what the doctor requested.

Tanya's grandma slowly opened her eyes as she groaned, and then she coughed and immediately everyone gasped in awe.

"miraculous "

"marvelous "

"he is a god "

Some of them exclaimed, astonished at the doctors handiwork.

Tanya ran to her grandmother hugged her and began sobbing, some other people drew closer to comfort them and as well marvel at what the doctor had done..

"Give her some room, she needs to breath and eat... " the doctor chided as he continued the observe the woman. before he went to discuss with Derick at one side of the room.

"you actually did it doctor " Derick said happily

"was there any doubt that I couldn't? " the doctor replied pride and his shoulders high.

"none at all, it's why I specifically requested for you. I knew you could do it. "

Derick praised.

"

"Give me water. " Tanya's grandmother requested with a hoarse voice and immediately she was given water.

After she drank, her breathing normalized and her voice returned to normal, she slowly began regaining her lively colour since she was formerly pale.

"Tanya give me food I'm hungry "

She said to Tanya who still hugged her slightly and sobbing.

Tanya nodded and immediately searched for Mason with her eyes before she screamed at him

"Mason the Fruits now !" she asked

Mason didn't hear her since he was focused on the doctor and Tanya's grandma for some reason

"MASON, WILL YOU BRING THSOE FRUITS NOW! " she commanded, In an almost ferocious manner .

Mason immediately snapped out of his mind and rushed to her to offer the fruits he held.

To everyone present it was hard to tell if he was the husband or the slave .

Tanya opted for fruits because the person who went to bring for was yet to return.

Tanya's grandma watched the whole thing and her clicked her tongue in disappointment and annoyance.

"Tanya, you brought this man again. "

She said and took the apples she recieved from Tanya, who took the apples from Mason.

"he's my husband ma " Tanya defended.

"oh please ..." her grand ma rolled her eyes before she continued speaking.

"he can't even do something as simple as being over some fruits, what good is he? "

"it's fine ma " Tanya said again as she took more apples for Ma but she kept ranting.

"get a man like Mr Derick over there, he's such a sweetheart. He saved me, brought me here and even offered to call his personal doctor for me. "

Mason heard her and said nothing because his wife had asked him not to and also because it was not the first time he had been bad mouthed in front of everyone by her family members.

Tanya's grand Ma retched as she spat out an apple seed towards Mason on purpose.

"I almost choked because I was talking about him " she said

Tanya rubbed her back and everyone comforted her

"take it easy ma ".

Mason kept staring at Tanya's grand Ma, especially the red spot on her neck and she noticed it and glared at him ferociously.

"and what is your problem now Mason, why your penetrating eyes on me "

She confronted him verbally..

Mason was surprise since it caught him off guard but at the end he couldnt bottle up his assumptions.

"The doctor treated you wrongly. And in 10mins you will go through a painful seizure as you cough out blood and then coma and then die in an hour "

Mason said blankly, causing everyone to gasp in horror to his words and they immediately looked at him with more hatred.
