Chapter 40:Getting rich.

Adam and Birdy spent the half hour in the testing chamber trying to find the best way they could use their skills together to achieve the best results.

Adam’s Gyrokinesis level zero skill only worked by touching the object he wants to manipulate, and his manipulation limits would vary according to the object’s properties, for example, by spending ten mana, he could make a small dagger weigh 10 times its weight for 10 seconds, for each second less he could add a multiplier without spending more mana, if he makes the dagger weighs 20 times it’s weight without spending more mana, it would only last for a moment.

Birdy’s telekinesis had a similar limitation, by spending 10 mana, he could make the same dagger fly around and dance in the air for 10 seconds, each second more would use 1 more mana, to throw the dagger at a target with a considerable force, he would spend 10 mana for just the split second of the throw.

For both skills, the more the target weighed the more mana they spend, mana would regenerate by 1 point every second for the level zero players, and the more stat points they put into mana, the faster it generates, and the maximum stored mana would also increase by 10 for each point they add.

To make the man fly to the sky like a Canon ball, Adam spent 50 mana to make him weightless for one second, which is all the time Birdy needed to spend the same amount to launch the man to the sky with ease.

And since the effect only lasted for one second, the man stopped accelerating as he reached more than 30 meters high, and he began falling, screaming to the top of his lungs.

If he knew they would actually attack him, they wouldn’t have gotten the chance to do this, however, the man was so confident in his ability to fool them.

Adam gave Birdy a satisfying approval look, as the sound of the falling man was getting louder, they both stood at the spot they thought he would fall to.

Not knowing what kind of skill he has or what gadgets he can use on them, they weren’t going to give him a chance to recover from the fall, as such a fall would usually not be enough to kill a player after playing for a while, and the man looked like he was playing for a while.

The moment he touched the ground, Adam jumped on the boulder he was sitting on earlier making it weightless, as Birdy moved it above the man who made a small crater in the ground, then Adam made it weigh 10 times its weight for 2 seconds, which cost him 150 mana.

A huge dust cloud raised in the forest between the trees, as the deafening sound of the boulder smashing the man resounded throughout the entire island.

Congratulations on leveling up. All stats +1, free stat points +5

Congratulations on leveling up…

Congratulations on leveling up…

Congratulations on…

Adam and Birdy instantly reach level 7 together, they were amazed by this unanticipated gift, they were just testing on the suspicious man to see if the tactics they discussed in the testing room would work in a fighting or not.

And it obviously did, now each one of them reached Level 7, and had 35 free stat points to allocate freely, usually to reach this level, players would spend at least five hours in the game killing monsters and finishing quests.

“What was that guy’s level?! We got so much exp for killing him!” Birdy’s heart was beating so fast from all the adrenaline in his blood and the excitement of killing a player that’s level was so high he gave them 7 levels each.

“Lets look at the kill record, I think the only reason we could kill him this easily, is that he was too full of him self!” Adam opened his kill record, his eyes widened in shock as he showed Birdy what he found.

Victim name: HammerCord.

Victim type: player.

Victim level: 46.

Avatar age: 312 days.

“Lets see what he got on him! He must be rich.” Adam was actually excited this time, he never thought to be this excited for winning something in a game, but the rush of getting the upper hand on someone who didn’t die in the game for a little less then a year was just so incredible.

After moving the Boulder, the man’s smashed corpse didn’t look very ugly due to the game’s rating, however, his armor was damaged badly, but he had a few valuable things in his inventory, plus a 1.3 million gold.

“Wow! We got rich in the first hour of the game!” Birdy held a few skill books shining different colors in his hand, Adam however was interested in the map the man was using, he had an X mark on a location nearby.

“these skills looks cool! There’s an advance version of your skill Adam!” Birdy handed Adam a book with a planet shape on it, and written above the planet (level 1 Gyrokinesis.)

“That was a weird luck! You should learn all the other skills so you can get stronger.” Adam learned the advanced Gyrokinesis skill, and thought to take a look at the map. “Lets collect our loot and go treasure hunting!”

The level 1 Gyrokinesis skill allowed Adam to use his Gyrokinesis skill on any thing within the range of 3 meters from his hands, which was a huge upgrade from the level zero, needing to touch the object was an unnerving problem for Adam.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the wide universe, a man almost had a heart attack after being killed by two level zero players. “I underestimated them, and I paid a year’s work for my mistake! How could I be so foolish! F*ck! F*ck! F*ck!” he thrashed around the room and everything in it in anger, not daring to touch the virtual reality helmet on his head, or the system core its connected to.

“How should we allocate these free points?!” Birdy sat beside Adam on the giant Boulder.

“I placed 10 in mana, 10 in Agility, 10 in strength, and 5 in vitality, I think you should do the same for now.” Adam advised, jumping and moving around to test the limit of his new strength and speed, since their strategy is based on the collaboration between their skills, they would need to be fast and agile.

Feeling satisfied with the over all enhancement, Adam sighed and murmured to him self. “Why isn’t it this easy and painless in the real world?!” to reach a lesser strength then what he now have in the game, Adam had to endure an excruciating pain. “it’s just a game!” he reminded himself.

“Lets find that treasure Birdy! I’ll race you there.” Adam shared the location of the X mark on the map with Birdy, and started running, not waiting for Birdy to reply.

“Hey! Not fair!” Birdy floated above the ground using his telekinesis, because he still couldn’t run in this body, and used another skill called (Air-gun) to accelerate, reaching Adam and leaving him behind, since he was only using telekinesis to float, it didn’t consume much mana, the Air-gun on the other hand was using less mana to accelerate him.

Unlike the skill tree, normal skills use less mana to do a specific functions, they cannot be manipulated like the original skill trees, and they cannot be upgraded, but they can be useful and mana sufficient.

“Not fair my a*s!” Adam wasn’t giving up this easily, he reduced his own body weight by 30% consuming 5 mana every second, and started jumping long distances to catch up to Birdy.
